A little hardware makes a nice statement

My sister was looking to snazz up some furniture she’d recently gotten, and Anthropologie was (of course!) the solution. She’d invested in Crate & Barrel’s Brighton Chifforobe and Brighton Nightstand. Both pieces are lovely but the all-white motif is kind of…boring.

In progress — two knobs replaced

I suggested buying new hardware. Could you get new knobs somewhere cheaper than Anthropologie? Probably. But their pieces are fun and they have a great selection in-store. My sister went from being pretty ambivalent to falling in love with more pieces than she needed!

My favorite was the Cinquefoil Knob ($6) on the door.

In the end my sis picked six different styles, repeating two styles in two colors. Each piece was a bit different — no two of any were the same — so she varied size/color on the repeats.

It ended up being pretty easy changing out the hardware. Just a screwdriver was needed. A couple of the knobs had lifts on them that my sister was afraid would damage the wood so she removed them. And a few didn’t have long enough threads to fit through the drawers.

But the finished product looks great! A nice, inexpensive project to help add a bit of a fun touch to her bedroom. In the end she used the Melon Knob ($8), the Cocktail Ring Knob ($8), the Violette Knob ($8) and the Cinquefoil Knob ($6).

Over on her nightstand she used the Bubbled Glass Knob ($8) for a slightly more modern touch. Same simple change for a fun effect.

I love the new design, but I think I liked your heading better, with the girls face by the Effortless Anthropologie. I absolutely love the yellow though! And thats such a good idea to make a brand sizing guide!BTW, I Looooove that chanel jacket too 🙂

Thanks for the feedback! =) I'll be wrapping up over the weekend. The old header isn't gone forever…it will come back at some point.
