I accidentally stole all the conch shell pencil skirts (sorry)

Oops. Anthropologie did a mini-update of their sale section this morning and I noticed that the conch pencil skirt (now $139) had finally made it! I was so excited because a friend of mine keeps dropping hints about how much she loves mine so I totally wanted to get it for her birthday in a couple of weeks.

So I tried to place an order for a 6 and an 8 planning on returning whichever size didn’t work. Like me she’s between sizes and we steal each other’s clothes all the time. I got an error on checkout though that said to try my order again. Which I did but the 6 was already out of stock so I only ordered the 8. And then of course 10 minutes later I got an email confirmation for both orders. Argh. I called into Anthro’s customer service line but they couldn’t help me — since I’d placed the order before 10 AM EST it was already being processed. Which is so awesome I can’t really complain, except that I have double the expected charges on my card now.

What I’m trying to say is I accidentally ordered 3 of the skirt instead of 1. Clearly my friend does not need 3 conch shell pencil skirts. If you wear a 6 or an 8 and were hoping to snag one check back in the sale section in a week because I plan on refusing one of the packages. Sorry about that.

What do you wear it with? Is it versatile? I am a size 8 usually and pretty hippy- thoughts on if this skirt will work for me?

DC Gal — I wouldn't do an eBay store but if you're interested I'd be happy to send you one of them at cost.Anon — yes I've found the skirt to be pretty versatile. It's more of a dress-up item to be sure. I've worn it to work for client meetings and out on dates with my guy. To use some current Anthro offerings as examples shapewise only, I'd look for something with a similar shape to the Golden Field Blouse (sleeveless with accented waist). Anthro pairs it with the Tamarindo Blouse (no longer online), which I think looks great on the model but might be an iffy translation in real life. I have an Aalto Top in purple that I wear cinched with a belt with the skirt or or Ruehl No. 925's Shannon top. Non-Anthro items you could pair it with are things like this in white or this in pewter with a complimentary colored cardigan just to share a few ideas. Hope that helps!

Oh and I am also 'hippy' and a pencil skirt is one of the most flattering shapes you can wear. =)

I bought this skirt a few months ago when it was brand new. I paid full prices, even though I usually wait for Anthro's pricier items to go on sale, but I couldn't in this case because it was so absolutely beautiful that I couldn't risk it selling out. It is GORGEOUS!A note to those whose sizes have sold out: the great thing about Leifsdottir is that other stores carry it. I know Nordstroms and Bloomingdales both have this skirt, and I would bet Bergdorf's, too!

Hrmmmm….Its so tempting! Its so purdy! Question (as you are someone who owns one) does it fit snug across the bum or is it form flattering?

Hi DC Export, yes I do think the skirt is pretty snug across my bottom. No more so than any other pencil skirt. The pattern of the skirt is pretty flattering from the back I think, and the material itself is kind of thick so it smooths me out a bit. Also FYI for all — Rockefeller Center Anthro has about 10 of the conch shell pencil skirts in their sale room if you are looking for one. Give em a ring!

Dang, might be just a smigid too tight for my bottom! Its my ONE place I'm self conscious about. :/Anywho, thank you so much for bantering back and forth with me! :)Its so sweet of you to even offer!!!!!! 🙂
