Anthropologie to reduce catalogue circulation in 2009

Ugh, bad news. According to mediabuyerplanner.com, Anthropologie plans to cut its catalogue circulation by about 14% in fiscal 2010. I know that some Anthro fans have a hard enough time getting the catalogues regularly as it is so this can’t be good news.

The article states that Anthropologie will cut the circulation from 21.5 million to 18.4 million copies distributed. There is no breakdown of criteria used. If I had to guess I’d say the first cuts will be people who have not placed either catalogue, phone or website orders using the same address the catalogue is sent to. Anthro card members are hopefully safe.

Then again if they’re using whining about the latest catalogues as criteria I am so screwed.

I just started getting the Anthropolgie catalog. I don't buy from them very often so I wonder if I will get cut from the circulation list. Thanks for the heads up!

Sheesh. I buy from the regularly (in store and online) and I am an Anthro card member. Yet I never get a catalogue, no matter how many times I e-mail CS to ask why. This latest news will almost certainly ensure I do not receive them in the future.

I order online, I'm an Anthro member, however, I have not received a catalog in MONTHS! I have to go to the store (not a problem, really:P) to beg for one each month. I guess I'll be on the cut list. Which is a shame because I love and save all my Anthro catalogs. I do get about 6 J.Crew catalogs each month, though.

LOL Alicia. I have the same issue with Victoria's Secret. I regularly get triplicates of each of their catalogues. I haven't even ordered from them in a couple of years!
