Spotted: The Flora Fedora?!?

I can’t say exactly when I went from being just a casual Anthropologie shopper to “oh let’s start a blog about it because you think about Anthro every day anyway you silly fangirl!” but I partially blame it on the Flora Fedora and the June catalogue it came from. I wanted everything in that damn catalogue and unbeknowst to Anthropologie I had attempted to make a similar hat myself with disastrous results.

It looks so great in the shot above, doesn’t it? Take a 40s-style home dress, add a fabulous belt and whimsical hat and voila! All set. Nevermind that this outfit looked altogether ridiculous in real life. It’s the picture and the idea that I love.

I of course own the Flora Fedora. I wore the hat a few times last fall and got made fun of by my coworkers. Apparently the hat crosses the line for the ones who are more buttoned-up. I adore it and wear it anyway! It’s no longer on the website since it’s an item from last Spring/Summer but all of a sudden the Soho Anthropologie has a bunch of them! Flora Fedoras strewn all about the front displays of the store.

I’m sure the Soho employees must think I’m crazy, because I was laughing to myself (and then maybe out loud some) when I spotted the hat. Flora Fedora, you began my descent into Anthrobsession. And I heart you.

(The hat is $49 if you’re interested. Anthropologie Soho’s number is (212) 343-7070‎.)

I love hats! I think that one looks stylish and I would never make fun of it! I'd be the co-worker gushing over it and asking where you got it! Silly co-workers.

That is a wonderful, lovely hat and too few women wear them in my opinion. Should style-impaired co-workers mock your hat again, you can always toss back at them the Emily Post quote "It is impossible for a hatless woman to be chic."Love the blog!!-Suzi

I've noticed a bunch of old items from last year popping up in store and in the online sale section. The Squared Pencil Skirt disappeared from the website last November without going on sale, and is now on sale online for more than I paid in-store in December. Very odd.

Cute hat! Do you happen to know if Anthro ever gets around to putting their home stuff on sale? I've had my eye on one of their rugs for the longest time!

Hi Anon! Yes Anthro has sales on their home stuff twice at least twice a year…usually in May and November. I can tell you that the upholstery in my local stores is on sale now (select couches, etc.) but I have not noticed rugs near me. I love the Lollipop Blossom Dhurrie. Which one are you looking at?
