Off the beaten path…Catherine Malandrino

Oh, Catherine Malandrino…je t’adore. Her store (and Nanette Lepore‘s) are so close to my work that I have to purposely avoid Broome Street so I don’t blow entire paychecks. Malandrino’s clothing is always flattering, always on-trend and just gorgeous to look at. It is in many ways a great companion to Anthropologie’s zeitgeist. I’m excited to see her Spring line continue to become available even if only to admire. From fabrics to cut this line is one of my favorite designer efforts.

I really appreciate the staff at her store. I hardly ever shop for myself there but I like that they give you honest opinions…they’ll tell you when something doesn’t work on you (and of course, recommend something else to replace it!).

Malandrino’s dresses are what she is probably best known for. I’ll have to swing by in the morning to take a shot of the current window display that has me drooling. The online store is still featuring pre-Spring but the store has been updated.

I’m eagerly waiting for this dress to go onsale (and ahem, re-appear in my size) so I can snap it up. Until then this wardrobe exists only in my dreams.

Moi, aussi! She really is spot on with her stuff, but never too trendy. Stuff you could wear for years to come. I love that deep v-neck top. Sweet and sexy at the same time! Are you a part of Gilt Groupe? They actually just had her stuff on the site. It might still be there? Heavily discounted, so you could even snap up something for yourself! Let me know if you're not and I can send you an invite link, as it's invite only.Happy Friday!

Hi Marta! I am in Gilt Groupe (thanks for the invite offer!!) but I didn't see any have to haves in the Catherine Malandrino sale. Even with the discount the items are still pretty expensive. Did you snag anything?

Haha, no. They're still out of my price range, too. I can see how buying something from them is worth it b/c they are seriously marked down ($2500 to $750? Pretty huge).
