What makes a home an Anthropologie home? My friends and I joke it’s an entryway with lots of rustic-looking mirrors of different sizes. One of my friends just bought a new house with the hubby and is committed to decorating in the Anthro style.
She’s been trying to create the mirrors-on-wall effect in her living room for several months. She’s been cruising flea markets, art supply stores and discounters with little luck in reproducing the Anthropologie mirror style on the cheap. But then the brilliant struck when she and I were working on an art project together for me. I would like to put word art decoration on one of my walls (a verse from a song to be specific) but rather than trying to hand paint it — which would probably be a disaster — I am looking for a company that makes custom vinyl wall decals in a font I like. My friend came over to help me vet and while surfing the web she noticed mirror wall decals at several stores and fell in love. She ended up ordering several to mix in with the real mirrors she got.
This inspired me to look for more Anthropologie-esque wall decals. It’s great if you live in a tiny apartment, or have a large wall space to cover, or if you have pets and are afraid of them knocking over stuff, or if you just like the look! The keys to reproducing the Anthro style are: minimal flourish, small florals, and/or birds. They should look like silhouettes rather than freehand designs. You could probably take many of these decals off the wall and smack them on a dress. (The great thing about these decals are most are vinyl and removable. Hooray non-permanent!) I picked out a few of my favorites to share below.

If you're still looking for a place to do a custom song verse wall decal, I have nothing but good things to say for Wonderful Graffiti (www.wonderfulgraffiti.com). Their website is fairly easy to use and I've never had an order go wrong.

Ikea also has wall decals now. I believe they're about $20. I've been considering doing this in my bedroom, but am still rearranging furniture, so will wait until things are more permanent.
