Gorgeous! Family Night Tee

My personal finances are pretty tight at the moment but I’ve still been cruising the stores on behalf of clients. Anthropologie has slowly been rolling out new Spring items into stores. I went to brick & mortars twice this week and each time some new items were on the racks (as well as some new items being added to the sale!)

Though it’s just a simple top I think my favorite new piece is the Family Night Tee ($68). I have a feeling this tee will be more popular with the curvy ladies like me. I love the way the ruching gathers towards the cornucopia near the neckline. The shirt hugged me around my chest and then flowed away slightly at my belly. Form fitting this shirt is not!

The shirt is made of pima cotton and it’s pretty soft. I found the pink shirt to be a bit sheer (can we please kill this trend??) but I believe a nude bra would take care of that issue; the navy was not sheer. I was comfortable in both my true size medium and a small but I probably would have bought a medium in case the shirt shrank in the wash.

I think this shirt would work under a blazer or cardi for a casual office but I would probably use it as a weekend option with wide leg pants or a denim skirt. To the Wishlist it goes!

I know. I'm pretty much over the sheer thing, too. And you know who is the worst? J. Crew. I popped on a white tank, with a white tee over (a white short sleeved tee that set me back $50 at the time, too, because of its print…argh) and a cream color cardi over. I piled it all on, squinted into the mirror, took a few steps back…And realized you could see my bra. Through the white tank top. And you could see the white tank top. Through the white t-shirt. And you could see the bra, tank top, AND white t-shirt all through the cardigan.Faaaaaaaaaail. One big disappointing fail. *cries*Husband and I are going on a date night tonight to the mall. I have the intent of going into Anthro to check out some of the new arrivals in person. The suspense has been killing me! I need to see them. Those tops you posted are gorgeous.

I wish we could kill the trend of shirts that shrink in the wash. How hard is it to use maximally pre-shrunk fabric? I've lost so many great shirts this way. 🙁

Love this shirt! It looks great in navy (thanks for the heads up on the sheer factor for the pink). I'll have to watch for when it goes on sale.
