I’m not very good at practicing patience, so when I couldn’t find the Tivoli Scoopneck in-store I ordered it from the website instead. I couldn’t wait to see how the lace flower detailing would look in real life, and if this shirt was truly worth $88. And while I wouldn’t ordinarily do this I am about to share some real-life shots.
In my opinion, yes the shirt is totally worth it! It has a lovely periwinkly grey-purple tone to it and I loved it as soon as I opened the package. I ordered the shirt in a Medium and while I could probably size down to a Small I won’t because I’m guessing it will shrink a bit in the wash.
The Tivoli Scoopneck has a bit of ruching in the back which helps to create the slight a-line of the shirt. This ruching sat in the small of my back. Overall, the shape of the shirt is very flattering.
I know the floral detail looks a bit flat in my pictures, but that is because the shirt was fresh out of the package. A little bit of steam helped bring them to life right away. As you can see from the detail shot above the floral detail is layered and I found the application to be of good quality. I am not worried about losing any of the accents anytime soon. I will probably wash this shirt in a protective bag on the hand wash cycle to keep it in best condition.
Overall this shirt is a winner. I love it, and I can’t wait until it’s warm enough to wear it!
If you have an Anthropologie product that you would like to review, please email me (addy in the “About Me” section). I would love to hear your take on products!
hijust found your fun blog…love the shirt, such great details! i will certainly be back :)michelle
Why wait, I bet you have a simple cardigan or even maybe a sheer or very thin tee with a scoop neck. A women who works at this catering/lunch place wears her little sheer tee with everything. Looks so cute.
Love your blog! I am a huge Anthro fan and it is fun to find someone else as "crazy" and addicted as me. I will visit again!
you look great! i've been eyeing this piece too; good to know it is as fab as it seems 🙂
Hi! It's you! And you look great!I like the real life pic idea- sometimes it is just so hard to gauge how things fit, you know? The top looks darling on you, though- definitely a keeper. 🙂
THAT IS NOT THE SAME TOP!looks like anthro changed the garment drastically again from shooting the catalogue to mass production. if you look around the middle of the detailing you can see most of the difference, but really that is not the same at all. I could tell immediately it was changed a lot, and not for the better. It isn't like it fits the "model" differently, it's just a different product. I like the original product photographed better! (not that you aren't a great model too!)The original detailing is more white, all white, and more refined. the other detailing is less refined.
By the way I don't know if it was here that I have seen this, but I have seen pictures before where anthro puts pictures up online of products and then sends out products that are drastically changed. (and it's always for the worse!)
I love this top on you!! It is super flattering!!
I love it, but I agree it looks different from the shirt the model is wearing. Give us an update on how it washes. I hate when stuff looks so great fresh from the store, but after a wash just doesn't sit right anymore. Today, I am wearing my Winter Song cardigan, which sadly, is coming apart as I wear it. The threads the run through the sweater are coming unstitched and pulling themselves out. Very frustrating.. that is my review 🙂
that is definitely not the same top! oh well…still cute. I've was kinda disappointed in the January catalog….too many pastels for my taste. I hope they bring out the brights soon!
