Visions of Anthro dance in my head

quiet mirth top two ways by roxyturtle

Anthropologie’s new arrivals just started hitting stores and I can say this with certainty: I want them all. Everything. Just wrap it up and deliver to Roxy, c/o Effortless Anthropologie!

Of course I can’t afford to buy everything. I’m in gift shopping mode and you probably are too. So while I’m dreaming of the funds to re-Anthropologize my wardrobe I made some new Polyvore sets with my favorite new arrivals. Enjoy!

I saw the Formations cardigan at my store on Saturday. I need to bring my husband to help me decide which color I want, the brown or the black with silver (which I didn't see on the website). The black is beautiful, but the brown with the rust is a bit more interesting. And, the Fun and Games henley is on sale at my store for 29.99. I brought it home but am returning it. I have large shoulders, so the open neck makes them look bigger. I also think it runs big. The medium was roomy on me. Roxy, thanks for the Polyvores, I look forward to them. It also shows me items I have missed!

does the quiet mirth top look more like it does on the model or the item pictures IRL? i like it on the model, but in the item picture it looks very different to me. also, does the beading seem heavy?thanks!

Georgine — I too have noticed a few items in store that are not on the website. For instance the jam jar cardigan was paired with a lovely blue and ivory top that I don't see on the site. Store exclusives, maybe?lauren — those were the lace top knee socks in taupe and they have sold out sadly. I found the Quiet Mirth top to be very flattering. The fit is closer to what you see on the model. Also, the item picture's beading is the same color as the shirt but in real life it's a bit darker. goldenmeans — I love your holiday party dress on your blog! I was also disappointed with the Shimmy Dress from J.Crew even though I wanted to love it. I had the same length issues and found it to be suprisingly boxy.

FYI, I have already posted some reviews of Anthro purchases and will have more over the next week or so. You can find them on my blog.

What we told clients when they came in the store (when I worked at Anthro), don't expect the store to follow exactly with the site. Both carry items that may not be in the other, like a sweater offered online in 1 color, but the store has 2 other options. This is especially true of shoes and jewelry. HTH!
