Get thee to Anthropologie

Alright, I’m sneaking one in from upstate NY…I have heard the good word, and the good word is that Anthropologie stores are putting their catalog/online returns out on the sales floor. What does this mean? It means that if you have been wanting to try on an item that is not normally available in stores now is a good time to check your store for someone else’s return. Apparently not every store is doing this so ymmv (your mileage may vary).

I am unfortunately not anywhere near an Anthro store to verify this. I have also been told that people making gift returns are receiving Anthro gift cards for the amount of their return and that stores are doing their best to accommodate Anthropologiettes without receipts. No major markdowns or sales as of yet but new items have been added to the sale. Initial reports are that Anthro did well during the holiday season.

I have a few Anthro-related gifts to share next week and would love to hear about any Anthro items you received or gave as well! Wishing you a wonderful last week of 2008.

Two items:1. My store in Tucson always puts the online returns out on the floor. I know this because I sometimes order a size XL or 14 and will often see the handmade tags attached to the items I ordered then returned out on the floor. Which brings up another question: Why do the online items not come with a tag attached? remember when the invoices also had no price? That was no fun when doing a return.2. I returned an item with a gift receipt along with an online order on Friday. The SA just credited my card back for the gift rather than do two separate returns (one to a gift card for the gift, one to my card for the online purchase). The gift return was for less than $10 so maybe that had something to do with it.Props to my store in Tucson…they are always so nice and do such a great job with everything!

Hi! This is going to be so random but I love your Anthro blog and I have a burning question to ask!For Spring/Summer 2008, there was this white cardigan with a giant appliqued flower on the shoulder. It's similar to the SOS Armana Jasmine Cardigan, but the flowers were more concentrated around the shoulder and the flower was bigger. Does this ring a bell? I'm dying to find the name so I can hopefully track it down on ebay! Thanks so much 🙂

Katherine, is this the sweater you are talking about? I can't remember the name but it was in the April 2008 catalogue. Does anyone have this catalogue? I will keep searching to see if I can find the product name.

Oh, I think it's called the Corsage Sweater Jacket if the image link in my comment above is the correct item. Here's the product page (no image). Good luck with your search!

i work at an anthropologie and we always put our online returns on the sale floor.we do make handmade tags, because the pieces bought online don't need or use the tags the same tags we use. those tags are only used to scan the skus on them… however, all online purchases come with packing slips which provides us with all the information we need to look up the purchase price and the method of payment. if a person has the packing slip, we refund their money the same method as paid. jacquelyn, you are right when you say that it totally sucked before they put the prices on the packing slip. we would have to call catalog and confirm the price. we still have to confirm the price a lot of the time, but we're able to do that on our end now.it's so fun to see people that love anthro as much as i do! 🙂
