anthro Card Perk email

If you have an anthro card, you probably received an email yesterday about an ornament sale. This is the first anthro perk email I’ve received since signing up for the card. I had started to wonder what the card was really for besides letting Anthropologie track my purchases.

I was confused about what the anthro card was for. It’s not a credit card, it’s not really a club card, it doesn’t appear to be much of a rewards card…what the heck is it? You don’t have to pay for it which is nice but what does it get me? When I first signed up the cashier gave me a little booklet that she said explained the benefits but all it had inside was a little poem. The poem didn’t really clarify anything.

I have heard that the anthro card used to allow free shipping on website orders. That doesn’t appear to be the case now. If you go to the anthro page on Anthropologie’s website you learn that you can do receipt-free returns which is pretty nice and that “Soon, you’ll be able to preview our newest collections and shop them before they’re available in stores or online.” Not really sure how that will work and this message has been on the site for at least a couple of months.

So I’m happy to have received this email because it gives me a clue to the mystery of the anthro card. Some more information would be appreciated though.

I'm gld you posted this. I did not receive this e-mail and I do have an Anthro card. I am thinking of returning ornaments I have already purchased and rebuying, as the savings would be substantial.Other than this I don't see what the benefit of the card is. Yes, they did offer free shipping for a while at the beginning of the year, but they stopped because it was costing them too much. I have to tell you I ordered more than then I do now. They lose a lot of my sales with their high shipping! And I almost always have to order since my store is small and has a limited product and size range.

Works online, too.FYI, I had to relink my Anthro card to my account and rs-sign up for e-mails. I have not been getting the print catalog or the e-mails to my Anthro account. They have been going to my old account which I never order under.

I was actually working at Anthro when they started this new program. So I had to do the spiel for customers about what it entailed. I do agree that some of the things listed haven't really been put into effect. This is also the 1st email promo I've received for Anthro cardholders (I did take advantage of the free shipping when it was around, and think they should have kept that as a permanent perk).Sort of OT: I did get out of work early yesterday and headed to JCrew and Anthro to do some holiday shopping. I made out well at Anthro! Got presents for 3 people, most on sale. 1) sugar and creamer (flowers & butterflies), and tea towel, 2) set of 4 bowls w/different flower in bottom of each one, plus owl salt & pepper shakers (I <3 owls!), 3) lg. change purse (yellow w/ embroidered flowers and beading), and putting an owl shaped sachet inside. All things bought unique and cute and inexpensive. I even got myself a cute brown leather bag on sale for $69.95. I had originally gone to get one of those monogrammed necklaces for myself and a friend (the black ones w/caligraphy letters), but they only had a couple letters left. They also had a really cute coat by Floreat that was an icy blue color with lots of buttons ($119.95) but I wanted to size compare and they didn't have the next size down. Will check online and maybe take advantage of the free shipping offer.Wow, that was long. Sorry!

I hear you! I've had to re-link my card a couple times, as well as re-sign up for emails. I also ship to my work address b/c it's easier, and they still send my catalogue here instead of home. And I've notified them of this! I swear…

i'm an anthro card holder too and i didn't receive this email either (not that i'm a giant ornament person either…). i think i only got to use my free shipping perk only once before they stopped offering it — they should really bring it back, i would order much more than i already do.however, creepy-tracking-motives or no, i do have to say i kind of love the receipt-free-return feature — i always always lose my receipts, and i've had to had to take advantage of it more than i care to admit. and say what you will about anthro's overpricing and whatnot, their indefinite-return policy is pretty awesome and keeps me shopping there.great blog btw, i love reading obsessing about anthropologie 🙂 i've been meaning to post a review of my visit earlier this week, hopefully i'll get around to finishing it today…

this isn't the first email i've gotten from my anthro card, but it is the first perk. i remember when i signed up for early this year they said free shipping and i assumed (whoops! shouldn't do that!) it would be all the time.i plan to order two more times before the free shipping ends! 🙂 i'm excited about the two price adjustments (totalling $110) that i've received in the last two weeks. 14 days is a crazy long time period for price adjustments and both times it has been very easy with no hassle (*cough* unlike j.crew). i buy more knowing this.

I also have been dropped off their catalogue/email update list a couple of times. I think their marketing team might be a little too aggressive in their purging. =)Even though I haven't really seen too many perks from the anthro card yet I am excited for what the future may hold. I'm pretty easy to please. I'm with you lauren on the price adjustments. I think Anthropologie's policy is very fair and they never ask questions or make you feel bad about it.Marta B., congrats on a great haul! I have been stopping in-store almost every night. They have so many great little gifts right now.goldenmeans, I look forward to hearing about your visit! My friends and I are on the phone pretty much every night talking about our holiday shopping. With the economy the way it is we have been shopping a lot less for ourselves lately.
