Reviews: Armana Jasmine Cardigan

Armana Jasmine Cardigan, $128

I was not a fan of red until recently. I always thought it was a hard color to pull off and made my face look flushed. My mind has been changed since I bought the Armana Jasmine Cardigan. I absolutely adore this cardigan. I bought it way back in September and have been not-so-patiently waiting for days cold enough to wear it.

Finally a few weeks I got my chance. I received many compliments on the sweater and almost everyone correctly guessed that it was from Anthro. (Could this also be because Anthro is my favorite store? Most likely.)

I love the tag that the cardigan has attached in-store: “This sweater was inspired by my friend’s little garden in New York City. Even though the backyard is miniature, it overflows with thriving vines and flowers that climb up the city walls.” I am lucky enough to have a backyard as well and I agree they are quite the urban oases. It is a jungle out there with the vines and brick combining.

This cardigan holds up well to cleaning so far and does not pill. The sleeves have more of a flair to them then the catalog picture at the top of this post reflects. I found this cardigan to run a little bit large. I could have bought a small or a medium but chose the medium, which is my true size. The cardigan’s buttons are slightly asymmetrical to achieve the climbing effect. Overall it is a lovely cardigan that will be in my closet for years to come.

I have dreamed of this jacket since I saw it in the catalog, and I deeply regret not buying it. If anyone would like to part with theirs in medium or large I would love to buy it. (bigfrancesca@yahoo.com)
