Store crawl, part one

Rockefeller Center, NYC

My tax refund hasn’t come yet but I could not resist starting my Anthropologie store crawl. Today I hit the Soho store which was really abuzz! Pretty crowded. It was a gorgeous day in New York City today and that may have had something to do with it. But the ladies on the street seemed to be making a bee line for Anthro. (Ha, no really. I’ll stop with the bee stuff. Maybe.)

I was mostly looking to see if the Edun bee tees were out yet but I did not see them. I saw plenty of other great stuff though! Spotted and going my wish list: Triglav Peak Peep-Toes ($110); Pieced Gauze Dress ($168); Syrenka Blouse ($88). Below are quick hits for the items I tried on.

The haul. From left: Puckered Scoopneck ($48);
Sun Rise Necklace ($42); Winding Lane Top (now $40)

Puckered Scoopneck ($48): I bought this shirt in navy over the winter when it was called the Family Night Tee and $20 more expensive. The spring version by C.Keer seems to fit a little bit smaller. I again purchased my true size medium. The shirt is definitely sheer and I will need to wear a cami underneath it. All in favor of making shirts opaque again?

Curlicue Tee ($58) in orange layered under the Stretching Acres Cardigan ($68) in beige: I saw the combination on a bustequin and went squee! I don’t know what draws me to orange because it looks terrible on me. But every year I seem to buy an orange top from Anthro. I tried on the Curlicue Tee (C.Keer) in a small and it fit fine. The pleat break in the middle it a wee bit odd though. Not sure how I feel about that accent. I tried the Stretching Acres Cardigan in a medium and was satisfied. I might have to size up to a large to satisfy my hips though. Also this Moth sweater is kind of short. The talls among us will find the cardi hits at high hip rather than mid.

Knotted Mallow Sweater ($78): Moth, I adore thee. This sweater in my true size medium was pretty fricking adorable and also pretty frickin sheer! Loved the braid trim on the sleeves. Most likely going to break down and buy this tomorrow.

Winding Lane Top (now $40): On the list when I came in I grabbed it in beige, size 8. I really need a size 6 in this Odille top and will be on the lookout for the proper size tomorrow at Rockefeller Plaza. While the 8 fit fine across my chest it was too big in the shoulders. Already have this in navy, size 6 and love it!

Sun Rise Necklace ($42): I can never resist Anthro’s jewelry and adored this in store. It’s a pretty big piece — definitely a statement necklace. The yellow/aqua can also look olive/teal depending on the lighting. Real life shot above so you can see the size. I will probably wear this as a bib, pulling the chain back a bit. And probably not with my Field Day Tee.

    Our store windows look great too. I live in Greensboro, NC. I love the bee theme. They had the Edun tees out early. I bought the yellow one with the grey bee "garland" around the bottom. It looks great! Great cut and color. The SA said they will have other special Earth Day items as well that will be out on Wednesday.
