OOTD Double Shot: Quilted and Cozy

March may roar in like a lion with gusts of grey and white, but it’s time to get a little green into the mix. Wouldn’t you say?

It took me a couple of tries to figure out the Quilted Cozy Coat‘s (now $80) sizing (I sized down to a S/M) but once I did this little open coat has been a spectacular outfit topper for me! I’m a little sad to be running this post after the coat has hit sale and keeps selling out online — the good news is that it’s popped back several times already and I’ve seen plenty in the store sale rooms. Pair it with a classic top like the Theory shell seen here and you are all set girl.

Although I prefer my coats with closures, this one has enough heft to stay in place against all but the fiercest wind gusts. It can dress down a fancier outfit or dress up a casual Friday look. And it’s green — a color this winter weary girl desperately needs in her life right now!

The other green here comes courtesy of the fantastic Meradyth Pumps (now $230), a shoe I’d been dreaming of since summer. Are these comfortable? Heck no! At least not when I first put them on and walking is a struggle. There’s no pain involved, it’s just that they are hard to walk in. Once they’ve been on my feet for about 15 minutes I can walk in them decently but I’d never lie and say these are all-day shoes. These are office shoes. They are date shoes (when driven to all locations). They are not standing up all day shoes. Sometimes though, when something looks so great and gives me that little boost of happy and confident, I’ll tough it out. I adore these pumps!!

If this outfit is just a touch dressed up by the coat, here’s a look that’s a bit more casual.

If my Meradyth pumps are challenging to walk in, then these Toms are the complete opposite — all-day comfy, similarly cool-looking, with a tassel detail that I just love! It’s funny how these hunts begin. In my case, I was following a chic-looking girl about my age up the stairs in the Rockefeller Center B/D/F/M train station and was so taken by how cool her bootie’s tassels looked swinging to and fro on each step.

Were I a man or gay, this would be the start of a scintillating romance I’m sure. Instead, it was the start of a must-have shopping hunt! Search upon search turned up nothing until I finally landed on my sweet Toms.

Expect to see pieces of this outfit repeated in upcoming OOTDs because they’re either super comfortable or super fab! Need sizing guidance on anything? Just ask in the comments!
