Thank you so much for your help with my Anthro shopping cart last week! I have decided to buy both the Drenched Helenium Tee ($78, review here) and the High Speed Cardigan ($128). I eliminated the third round altogether and I’m still pondering the second.
I’m stalling on the High Speed Cardigan because I heard it might be hitting sale next week but I did take the plunge on the Drenched Helenium Tee. This is the first post in a new series I’m experimenting with…real-life outfit options. Bear with me as I’m still trying to figure out 1) the best spot in my apartment to take photos; 2) whether I need to invest in a camera that supports remote shutter and 3) head or no head, weird as that sounds.
These outfits are all good fall options and can be mixed and matched pretty easily. The tee is great because it has lots of colors to choose from and pull out in your other pieces. The neckline is great for pairing with a statement necklace and the sleeves, though stiff, are still soft enough to smush properly under a cardigan. I’m really happy with the purchase…although now I’m also in love with the Paragon Top ($88). Haha. It’s different enough, right? Right?

1 and 3 are sooo cute. i vote head, b/c no head is so weird. something i've thought about doing (if i blog, it would include my children) is making little masks for them to wear. headless babies are the worst. anyway … i got my first email from anthro today, after four years of purchases and mailing requests. random?

Oooh each one of your outfits are adorable! Thank you for sharing your different stylings with this top. I'm on a "yellow for fall" kick so am loving everything mustard. My prediction is that the high speed cardi will be on the sale rack ask its not sold out yet online. I think the best place to photograph is near a window where there is natural light coming in.
What size did you end up getting for the Drenched Helenium?? Looks terrific!
Natural sunlight. What's that? 😉 The only light I get is indirect and city lights.

Thanks so much for these outfit ideas! They're all really lovely. And now I want to try on the Drenched Helenium Tee since it's clearly so versatile! Those Flaxen Wedges are adorable–well worth the trouble you went through to get them!
I love all of the outfits, Roxy, but that third one especially! What a great idea, to pair it with the orange cardi. And I think that is what I love most about the tee; you can pair it with so many different colors and it looks great either way.
have to chime in–love the third outfit as well. and they do sell this thing called a "gorillapod" that lets you basically wrap your camera around things (like a standing lamp or something). Then you could just hit the 10-second timer and go for it!
Ooooh, I just ordered a gorillapod. Thanks Ade! I know this sounds dubious but I'm a decent photographer. Just indoors + self portrait = not so much. Haha. The issue I'm having with my self-timer is that my shots are half out of focus. My camera is pretty great when I'm controlling it but lacks good autofocus controls.
