This post is for Pamela, who asked to see both a casual and slightly dressed up outfit for the Converging Roads Sweater Dress ($138, review here).
This first option is the casual look. We like the idea of mixing different tones of brown and red to play off the warm oatmeal color of the dress. Starting with a simple turtleneck under the dress for warmth, we also suggest some fun (and warm) tights. Since the dress is so thick we imagine it’ll only get used in the winter so you can swap boots into this outfit as needed. We have a pair of heels in the set as an idea for the warm days. The bag is one of our favorites. We finished off the look with a long necklace which will draw attention to the crossed v-neckline of the dress.

Here’s the dressed-up option. We went a bit nuts coming up with the story behind this outfit — we see it as a fashionable woman’s party outfit for a holiday get-together at some fancy mountain resort. We picked out a cashmere turtleneck to layer under the dress. It’s thin but warm. To give the dress a little extra touch we added two hair clips as pains. They’re gossamer clips I saw in-store that are very, very cute. Basic tights for this one but we picked out slightly showier boots. The gold oversized buckles stand out in a good way. A fancy clutch is a reminder that yes this is a party outfit and some dressier jewelry completes the look.

Sorry this is unrelated to the post, but I have seen the new In the Moment dress listed on ebay by several different sellers, in all 3 colors, and in every size. How is this possible? All of the listings say new without tags, that the brand label has been cut by the manufacturer. I assume that these are samples or seconds. How do ebay sellers get hold of this amount of product? And how does this impact Anthropologie? They are selling for $60-70. I've tried this particular dress in the store, and like others I think the quality is poor – zipper, lack of lining, puffy derriere, and general poor construction for a Maeve dress. These ebay sample dresses for sale perhaps are even more imperfect, but the prices are half retail. Roxy, do you know what this is all about?
Hmm, I have no idea. I see both sellers are in California. I suppose it's possible that these were rejected by Anthro's QA for whatever reason and these sellers got a hold of them from closeout. The prices are really tempting. But I would be worried about the source. Has anyone purchased any of these items?

thanks for posting this styling- I keep mulling over buying this dress and then not doing it because I'm never sure how I'd end up wearing it.do you think crew neck sweaters would look at good? Natalie truth be told I'm not good with turtlenecks either, though I do find that J.Crew's tissue turtlenecks don't bother me. You might find that a crewneck interrupts the neckline. If that bothers you I'd try a v-neck instead, one that has a similar line to the v of the dress.
Ill have to go in and try on one of their tissue turtlenecks- thanks for the advice 🙂
