I am so appreciative of each volunteer that has brought their point of view, style and shape to the community! If you’re interested in writing a guest post please email me at snapsparkchik at gmail dawt com. Once again please welcome the wonderful Ali to Effortless Anthropologie’s guest post slot. All yours lady!

I couldnt resist a visit to my local anthro to scope out the new arrivals today! The first item I tried on was the Ocean Mist Skirt ($128) by Floreat. It looks lovely on the skirt. I wore a size 2 in this which is not usually my size, so suffice to say it runs big. The fabric is silky and smooth. It really looks beautiful on the hanger. On me, it is another story. It has a drape in the front which I was leery of, but looked OK. It also drapes in the back giving your bum a pouffy, pear-shaped look. Too bad as the waist has some pretty embellishments.

The next item I tried on was Tiny’s Buds & Stripes Top ($78) which Roxy reviewed here. It has a really cute floral print in front, with a jersey black and white chevron print in back. All i could think of was what people say about mullets. Work in the front and party in the back. LOL Anyway I tried on the “p” which was too small up top and held my chest in a vice like grip. The other size a m was too big for me. I cant say I am a big fan of shirts that are different in front and back as it reminds me of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

The last item I tried on was the Gainsborough Skirt ($148) by Tracy Reese. I wore a 8 which seems to be my size in her line. I would say her line runs small. I saw the skirt in the catalog and semi detested it, but in person it is so cute. The fit is flattering, and i love the splash of colors. Readers I did something I rarely do, and bought it full price. Anyway that is my roundup. Thanks for reading!

I was in a store today. They were preparing for markdowns later tonight. The sale rooms are very picked over and empty.

Markdowns… The only reason to look forwards to Mondays is because markdowns are on Tuesdays… The Gainsborough skirt is lovely, will be perfect for the summer.

I tried on the Milady Skirt today in a size 8 and it looks fabulous! Very body concious. My booty looked great. Definitely on a must have list. I would have bought it today but bought unexpectedly the AG Stevie jeans that fit me like a glove, the Free Flow tank in navy and Field Game Cardi. So I had to leave something behind. One of the SA's told me how the Field Game Cardi was a "me" item, (that was true, we talk alot when I come in and she's seen the other stuff I've bought and what I'm wearing so….). I have my eye on the Gaineborough skirt as well but fear it is too tight fitting.Ali: thanks for the reviews.

Great review, Ali! I have been giggling about your mullet comment. I, too, am interested in the Gainsborough skirt–will try it on tomorrow, hopefully!

I think the colors in the Gainsborough skirt look impressionistic… like flowers in the rain. Great choice!
