To all Trade Market users: please be aware that over the last month two community members have been victims to uncompleted trades. In both cases, a person contacts a community member who has posted an item FOR TRADE in the Trade Market. When the community member sends the tracking number for their item, this person replies that they will “drop the item in the mail tomorrow.” Only tomorrow never comes. In both cases I reached out directly to the offending party and in both cases the email account was immediately closed.
Someone out there is trying to take advantage of this community and I absolutely will not stand for it.
Please be advised to avoid any dealings with a person named Jamie or Theresa with a mailing address in Coventry, CT 06238. I am embarrassed that my home state is where this person calls home. To avoid blacklisting all residents of lovely Coventry please email me if someone from that town wants to deal with you.
I am currently gathering evidence about these transactions and will contact the proper authorities if necessary. I take this very seriously. I want to emphasize the importance of letting me know when a transaction goes sour. If a criminal is taking advantage of the community you can bet I will get the police involved. If you have questions, please email me directly.
To complete a successful trade, I recommend that both parties get tracking information before mailing the item. Additionally, ask for references before completing a trade if you can. Finally, if a transaction seems at all fishy please do not complete it!
