There are less than 54 shopping days til Hanukkah!!! What ever will we do? (Christmas-celebrators, that goes for us too.) Although I typically don’t start my holiday shopping til after Thanksgiving, the holidays are inescapable in this year’s anemic economy, so I figure rather than swimming upstream it’s time to start talking about cute gifts I’d like to give and receive.
Free People has truly won the accessories game this year. All other stores should surrender and bow down. From pre-teens to teens to friends who like to be especially on-trend or just about anyone who likes fun adornments, the store is offering so many great gift options this year at prices unlikely to bust the bank.
The very cute Multi Faux Fur Bag Charm ($16) above, the solid color version, and its iPhone counterpart, plus a letter charm and a mini purse charm, as well as the more traditional hot with pom, are just one example. Inside, plenty more great gift ideas…
Let’s talk tech accessories. The Adorned Wireless Speaker ($98, above) is decorative, perfect for dorms or creative offices or bedrooms or living rooms, and no one will ever know they are speakers until you connect to them via Bluetooth. I bought these for my bedroom and I love them, the sound quality is great. I’ve since bought two more as Christmas presents.
Another techland gimme and fromme is the Cosmo Holographic iPad Mini Case ($30), whose iridescent glow reminds me a bit of the 90s without making me cringe like acid wash jeans do. It’s cute, highly functional and fun to look at. Likewise, the Leather Keychain iPhone Charger ($26) is pretty and functional. I kind of marvel at these things, really. Other iPhone accessories I dig include the Universal Lens Kit ($20), the BluCube Wireless Speaker ($50), the Pop Socket Phone Mount ($10) and the Earmuff Headphones ($28).
Another area where Free People is excelling is bags, especially reproducing luxury bags in ‘vegan leather’ at a fraction of the designer price. The Palermo Backpack ($68, above) for example reminds me of a $550+ designer bag and will set you back less than $75.
And Free People has oh so many cute, very cute, seriously cute bag options right now under $100 that would make amazing gifts. Many of them are small — meant for nights out, concerts, or events where not much is needed on you. Think the Carolina Crossbody Bag ($38, especially in leopard), the perfect nightclub clutch the Kat Travel Wallet ($78), the two-fer Reversible Vegan Crossbody ($42), the Cameron Vegan Mini Tote ($58, another designer lookalike), the tiny but on-trend Essential Backpack ($50), Lyra Faux Fur Backpack ($68) and Bowery Vegan Backpack ($68), the sparkly Glitters Crossbody ($58), Sequin Skies Crossbody ($78), Starry Eyed Make Up Case ($20) and Luella Crossbody ($68), the soft Bardot Fringe Mini Bucket ($58) and Seeing Double Crossbody ($68).
