Not to be outdone, J.Crew offers up to 30% off your purchase!

Simple yet chic outfits are what it’s all about for me right now.
Shown here: the Ruffle Top in Clip Dot ($68 + up to 30% off),
the Denim Skirt with Raw Hem ($70 + up to 30% off),
the Signet Bag in Italian Leather ($128 + up to 30% off)
and the Bandana in Berry Print ($13 + up to 30% off).

This is an exciting time of year for building our Spring closets, as the promotions are flowing and they just keep getting better! Joining its sister store Madewell’s terrific current promo (which ends tonight!), J.Crew is now offering up to 30% off your order too! This outfit above is a great example of the updated classic chic styles I love J. Crew for — that bag is so buttery soft in real life and I love the tassel, and the clothing has a familiar yet eminently wearable feel to it.

Designwise J.Crew seems to be finding its footing again, with lots of cute items that mix classic, feminine, trendy and preppy chic together effortlessly. Inside, some of my current favorites from my wishlist and shopping cart…

Mini Skirt in Fringey Lace ($98 + up to 30% off),
Floral Chandelier Earrings ($65 + up to 30% off),
Women’s Tretorn® Canvas T56 Sneakers ($68 — excluded from promo).
I normally hate clothing with words on it, but this sweatshirt is quite cute! And not crazy expensive!
Ruffle-Sleeve Top ($40 + up to 30% off), Tie-Back Denim Skirt ($78 + up to 30% off).
Simple, refined, wearable, chic…want!
Striped Boatneck T-Shirt (now $30 + up to 30% off), Seersucker Ball Skirt ($188 — excluded from promo).
One of those J.Crew combinations that I’d never think to try on my own, but love.
Off-the-Shoulder Striped Sweater ($90 + up to 30% off),
Chain-Link Necklace with Silk Tie ($68 + up to 30% off), Ruffle Skirt in Chambray ($98 + up to 30% off),
Knotted Slides in Silk Faille ($138 + up to 30% off).
Work to play chic!
Sheath Dress in Fringy Lace ($138 + up to 30% off), Magnolia Link Necklace ($78 + up to 30% off),
Leopard-Print Leather Heels (now $155 + up to 30% off).
Perfect for parties of all kinds, including the one I just made up to wear this look.

Like Madewell, J.Crew is doing more than just individual pieces well — they’re doing entire outfits well, with pieces that mix and match easily without much thought to it. With J.Crew, I usually add things to my wishlist first and then wait two weeks to see what the price does. For anything you don’t want to wait on this promo is a good deal!

Here are some other things on my wishlist right now:
1 | The Gingham Ruffle-Hem Dress ($128 + up to 30% off) would be perfect for the annual Polo Classic I attend, with this hat. But I also envision it in beach towns, and to dressier weekend get-togethers.
2 | Twice now I’ve asked ladies on the street where they got the Camille Ballet Flats in Satin ($148 + up to 30% off), so I think it’s time to take the plunge myself. They don’t look like much online in my opinion but in real life they catch the sun like metallic shoes, with a beautiful sheen.
3 | The J.Crew for the Wildlife Conservation Society Whale T-shirt ($45) is excluded from the promo, but it’s for a good cause and is a beautiful top! I also like the elephant top.
4 | The Squared Lucite Link Necklace (now $60 + up to 30% off) is one of my favorite pieces — it can be beachy but it’s also great with work dresses. Want evidence? See it on me here.
5 | I also love the new blue version of the Jewel Box Necklace ($88 + up to 30% off), which I own in the champagne color.
6 | The Forget-Me-Not Crystal Necklace ($88 + up to 30% off) is another necklace that can be fancy, but you could also pop it on with a sweatshirt and jeans for a casual chic look!
7 | The One-Shoulder Ruffle Top in Eyelet ($98 + up to 30% off) is a beautiful top that I’d wear a ton once it warms up. Love the idea of pairing the white version with jeans and red earrings.
8 | The Popover Shirt in Irish Linen ($80 + up to 30% off) is that perfect shirt that comes in the most beautiful colors. Adore.
9 | All things berry have my attention right now.
10 | If you don’t already own them, I’m so in love with my Colette Suede D’Orsay Pumps ($248 + up to 30% off)! They are all-day comfy and have such a beautiful powder blue color — later this week we’ll talk how to keep suede shoes looking their best. I have a few OOTDs in the editing process that I’m very excited to share; in the meantime you can see them on me in various outfits including: 1 | 2 Other colors of the pump are on sale plus another 30% off here.

What J. Crew items have you saved on with this promo? What’s in your cart and on your wishlist right now?

I just ordered the Signet bag in Chestnut a couple of minutes ago… I happened to see someone who had it in Pink a couple of weeks ago…(so cute!) It looks like a great little bag. I own nothing but cross body bags pretty much anymore.

I find myself reaching ever more for crossbodies too, and smaller ones! My shoulders are tired of most big bags (with a couple of exceptions).

Roxy, thanks for the post. Do you know if there is a replacement pant for the cafe capri? I miss those!

    • April 3, 2017 / 2:45 pm

Oh I loved the Cafe Capris! I think I still have one pair in bright persimmon.

The short answer is no. The longer answer is no but there is a pair of pants that comes close, the Boyfriend Chino Pant. The leg isn't quite the same but the material and fit are similar.

Although not the same shape, I also really love this cargo pant. You can see them on me here in the second outfit in the post. I own them in two colors and they are fab!! There is stretch but it's not overdone and they go with so much stuff.

    Great picks Roxy!

I adore the styling the Seersucker ball skirt above! If I didn't already have a similar dress then I would've snapped that up days ago when I first laid eyes on it. Even still I'm keeping it on my radar.

Also loveed the Signet bag in Italian leather instantly when my Jcrew catalog arrived. It was a hard choice but I've decided on a similar one from Anthro (by Clare V). Just waiting on the right promo from those guys so I can pull the trigger…

        🙂
For me, Anthro is nailing it in the shoes and accessories category.

WOW!! I suppose I am not surprised as Ms. Lyons has become ever more high fashion (and I mean that as a compliment), but I'm still sad to see her go.

The end of an era for sure!

Sad to see her go but having worked at j crew for nine years ( I've been gone for two) she should have left 5 years ago. They held on to her past her prime and like the article says she ended up designing for herself and not her customers.
        Change is good!!

The Seersucker Ball Skirt is excluded from the promo – BOO. I ordered it anyway for an upcoming event.

Argh, my apologies for not catching that — post updated.

      • April 5, 2017 / 2:22 am

No worries. It's still a steal. Tulle crinoline under $200? Yes, please!

Not sure I agree with you, Roxy, that JCrew is finding its footing again, against the backdrop of growing concerns that JCrew has lost its way and will soon be filing bankruptcy (so say the news reports today)- and the whole shake up of the design team with Jenna Lyons leaving. Would love to see a post on this. That said, these are cute pieces!
