Reviews: Navona Cardi, Cozy-Times-Two Cardigan, Split Decision Cardigan, Dwarf Quince Cardigan, Purrfect Posy Cardigan

Tiny has really been working the patchwork angle lately, to great effect. I purchased one variation earlier this year and have been attracted to all the subsequent versions. Their latest take on it is the Navona Cardigan ($88) which inexplicably makes me wish I had been an extra in last year’s Sherlock Holmes movie. It has that cobbled-together-from-scraps look to it.

I tried on my usual size medium which fit well. I didn’t get quite the soft pleated effect the product shot shows but I felt very comfortable. The side-tie style lent some waist definition — another plus. This would be a great hanging around the house cardigan or a good casual option. Wishlisted for sale time.

If the Navona made me think of the movie version of Jolly Old England, then the Cozy-Times Cardigan ($148) makes me think of something early American revolutionists might have worn. I admit that the concept here seems a bit above me. It’s a cropped cardigan…with coattails?

I tried on a medium which alternated between sitting fine on me and looking like the buttons were pulling. I felt a bit out of sorts in this itchy cardigan. It’s too bad because I really like the print on the cardigan. But I hated how it revealed my shirt underneath with these two rough, long tails sticking out. I found myself fidgeting with it, trying to get it to sit correctly. But it never really did. I think I need to be convinced by styling here. As of now I am not. Back to the rack.

Moth seems to be as indecisive about ruffles as I am these days. I like them, but not all over. I want them on my clothing, but I don’t. The Split Decision Cardigan ($78) reflects that indecision. The sweater is made of soft, heathered wool with nylon mixed in.

I reached for my true size medium and found it to be a good fit. I wish I’d known this sweater comes in red! I’d have sought it out in-store. Instead I tried on the neutral motif which was a bit of a yawn, but would pair well with most wardrobes. The length of the cardi itself was perfect though the sleeves seemed an inch or two too long. I’d take too long over too short any day though so no real complaints here. Wishlisted!

It’s been 9 months since I first reviewed the Dwarf Quince Cardigan ($98). In that time a lot of things have happened but this cardigan has never gone on sale. And now it’s out in a new color (blue) meaning the wait will be prolonged even more.

Could I resist it? Of course not. I love blue! I grabbed the medium and headed to the fitting room. Guinevere’s cotton cardi fit like a dream in my usual size medium. It has a twist cinch in the back and slight ruching at the wrists.

While the original red motif version had trails of silver thread, this version has traces of gold. It’s gorgeous! I want it but I will stubbornly wait for sale. Underneath is Anna Sui’s Upon The Shore Blouse ($368). I will have a full review of it soon — loved it! Until I saw the price, at which time I cried and sadly took the top off. Both of these items are wishlisted.

Flowers and leopard combine to form the Purrfect Posy Cardigan ($118). There are a few 3D flowers on the cardigan — off the shoulder, near the hip and on the back. There’s also a front ruffle. This cardigan has a lot going on. Oddly enough I found that putting a printed top underneath it worked best to balance it.

I found a medium worked well for me. Sparrow’s sizing has not been consistent for me this year. Between this and the similar Pick A Bunch Cardi ($128, reviewed here) I think I like this one a little better. Close-up below.

I do wish it were an inch or two longer, but I like the bracelet sleeves. The material is pretty thin and stretchy. The top underneath is We Love Vera’s Puckered Hydrangea Blouse ($78) which I reviewed here. This cardi has been wishlisted!
