Happy 2009!

I hope your New Year’s was lovely. I spent mine far away from the city, the Internets and civilization. Now I’m back and it is cold! I know a lot of people are not fans of winter but I love it. I love fresh snow, seeing my breath and snuggling up with someone I love.

January is a weird month for retailers. They’re starting to clear out their winter wear (already!) in favor of spring lines. But unless you live somewhere warm it’s hard to even think of short sleeves and bikinis when it’s 30 degrees outside!

Anthropologie is taking a nice middle step I think by unveiling their soft & pretty looks in their latest website update. Most of the items are white as snow yet bring to mind the blooms that we’ll see in a few months.

The Blind Embossing Scoopneck ($98) is definitely my favorite piece. It looks a lot like the Quiet Mirth top ($98) but with long sleeves. I am looking forward to lounge wear the next couple of months and by the beginning of March I’m sure I too will be ready for shorts and tank tops.

Which item from the Soft & Pretty collection is your favorite?

My favorite thing from the Soft and Pretty line is also the Remember Me Surplice. Love your blog!

The Remember Me Surplice is so pretty! I was a bit disappointed because it is far to short for my long torso. So I admire it from afar. 🙂 The neckline in particular is very flattering.

DO you think many of the clothes are short. I know I have the pick and choose cardigan and it is a bit short. has anyone seen the Button Tank? I like it but haven't seen it in person. I need to know why a tank is 72$.

Georgine, I think the Button Tank is a bit pricey because it's made of Pima cotton. It's much softer than regular cotton…kind of like fine Egyptian cotton. Not sure that justifies $72 though. 😉 And yes I have found many of Anthro's blouses to be too short for me. I am 5'8" so this happens to me a lot. I'm enjoying the long cardigan look that is currently on trend — they hit me where normal cardigans probably hit everyone else!
