Checking in with Bloomingdales Friends & Family: Jeans, Tops & Jackets

Items that are fun yet practical, like the the Hunter Original Vinyl Smock Raincoat ($230),
center in yellow, are high on my friends & family list.

The Bloomingdales Friends & Family sale is here, and I’m thinking trendy yet practical for my picks! Inside, rounding up some items I already own and some that I’d like to own with the help of this sale, and some that are wishlist ideas for now…all in photos…

Here are the promotion details.

Here’s the promo: take 25% off selected items (you’ll know they’re included because they will say “FRIENDS & FAMILY OFFER: USE CODE FRIENDS” underneath in the category pages as you hunt). Use the code FRIENDS at checkout. The promo is valid through April 9th and if you’re a Loyallist you’ll get a $25 reward card for every $100 you spend.

The first place I usually start with this sale is denim, and there’s a lot of cute jeans to choose from! Then we’ll cover tops to go with those jeans.

A new pair of white jeans is high on my list this Spring. For an undistressed pair, I’m leaning towards
A couple of years ago Anthropologie had a pair of distressed AG Jeans that I got asked to identify so many times!
Now here’s a very similar pair, the AG Legging Ankle Jeans in 11 Years Swapmeet ($225 + 25% off).
On the more distressed side of white jeans,
I’m loving the J Brand Low Rise Ankle Skinny Jeans in Demented ($178 + 25% off).
These come highly rated and have a good amount of stretch to them.
I fell in love with the Levi’s 721 Skinny Jeans in Rugged Indigo ($88 + 25% off)
after seeing them on Amy of Fashion Jackson. I’m delighted to report that they are fabulous!
With a high cotton content, there’s not much give to these, especially around the calves.
The knees will tear further as you wear them.
One more white distressed jean I love (and already own in this case!) is the
These are great for casual outfits and run at least a size large — do size down in these!
They have a tremendous amount of stretch.
Now we’re into tops that could go over those fabulous jean picks!
The Bella Dahl Pullover Top ($164 + 25% off) has one poor review,
but that’s only because it runs small. In real life this top is beautiful and soft. Size up.
I imagine wearing the Joie Mandel Embroidered Top (now $120 + 25% off) pretty much every weekend.
I’m loving all the playful proportions this Spring!
The MLM Label Salo Gingham Wrap Shirt ($175 + 25% off)
would look great over black pants for work.
I love that the Bardot Ruffle and Frill Shirt ($90 + 25% off) can be worn on the shoulder, off, or both!
With its subtle detailing, Parker’s Trinidad Off-The-Shoulder Top ($265 + 25% off)
can be dressed up or down as desired.
I’m rather gaga over the Dahlia One Shoulder Ruffle Top ($306 + 25% off) by Petersyn.
The ruffle proportions are pretty much perfect!
For those lazy hazy summer days, I imagine the
MLM Label Maison Gingham Top ($150 + 25% off) will be perfect!
(I think Shopbop did a much better job of styling it to inspire.)
Some get-together will be just right for the
There are so many one-shoulder ruffle tops to love this Spring.
My favorite blue long-sleeve on is the MLM Label One Shoulder Tiered Ruffle Top ($220 + 25% off).
And on the short sleeve side, I’m loving the MLM Label Ruffle One Shoulder Top ($165 + 25% off).
How cute is the Bailey 44 False Start Off-The-Shoulder Top ($158 + 25% off)?
I’d hide it under a blazer at work and then go shoulder-showing on my breaks and eves.
Loving the shoulder details on the Natori Ruffle Sleeve Top ($395 + 25% off)!
Tiers of ruffles make the WAYF Brayden Off-The-Shoulder Bell Sleeve Top ($88 + 25% off)
look exceptionally fun to wear!
The Rebecca Taylor Penelope Silk Top ($275 + 25% off) fits like a dream and
looks amazing under moto jackets.
Note that it’s hard to see here, but the top has a very light sky blue base color.
Cutest ruffle tiers ever live on the Marled One-Shoulder Ruffle Top ($68 + 25% off).
It would look awesome under a denim jacket (this one is my all-time fave) while there’s still a chill in the air!
Bloomingdales has a trend shop devoted to all things ruffle — shop it here. I’m in heaven.
For jackets, I’m thinking lighter layers as the temperatures warm up.
I adore the BLANKNYC Faux Leather Asymmetric Zip Jacket ($98 + 25% off) in taupe.
Another Blank NYC jacket I love, which you’ve probably seen on a billion bloggers by now,
is the Suede Moto Jacket ($198 + 25% off).
It is pretty awesome and fits like a dream! Size up, it runs quite small.
I already own the Blank NYC (noticing a brand pattern?)
Floral Embroidered Studded Faux Leather Moto Jacket ($168 + 25% off) and it’s amazing.
See it on me here (full OOTD post soon). Size up! Also comes in black.
Let’s wrap up this post with my jacket love, Rebecca Taylor’s
Washed Leather Moto Jacket ($895 + 25% off) in lavender.
This is the kind of purchase where 25% off makes a huge difference!
I can’t say enough great things about this jacket…I am so enjoying owning it. Runs TTS.

In a post later this week we’ll talk dresses and shoes from the Bloomingdales promo. What are you picking up during this sale?

    Thank you!

I LOVE the BlankNYC faux leather floral jacket in the white version. I actually purchased it this weekend for F&F. I tried on a large in store and was going to order it later since it was pre-sale only at the time (it was love at first sight!) Four hours later when I call the SA–it's sold out in store! I did purchase it online; however, the L was going in and out of stock over the weekend. They seem to have gotten more inventory in that size thankfully.

I'm looking forward to your OOTD post. I really liked the Instagram shot you posted. While I think the jacket may date quickly, I plan to wear it as often as possible!

There were some really pretty Ted Baker London items in store as well.
