Anthropologie offers a new weekend promo!

Polish off that outfit with the right pair of shoes, now 30% off at Anthropologie!
Shown here, the Deimille Paul Ankle Strap Stilettos (now $279) with the Carissima Sheath ($258).

Happy with all of the clothing in your closet, but looking to update things anyway? Or have the right clothing but not the right finishing touches? Anthropologie is here to help with its weekend promo — 30% off full price shoes! There’s no code required for this promo. Prices are as marked. The promo runs online and in-store.

There is so much 70s ugliness in Anthropologie’s shoe section right now — blunt toes and weirdly shaped block heels, with flatforms up the wazoo, but I’ve surfed through the madness to pick out several pairs that are pretty and make this promotion well worth putting to good use!

See what’s good, inside…

Where is this cute heel Anthropologie?? No really, where is it, because I want to buy it at 30% off!
A mystery heel shown with the new Layered Victorian Dress ($168).

Mystery shoes that perhaps are not yet online aside, here are some of the cutest styles at 30% off:
1 | The soft, comfy low heel of the Rachel Comey Mars Ankle Boots (now $300) is a spectacular deal compared to its normal price (and these rarely hit sale anywhere!).
2 | The Miss Albright Vanessa Flats (now $90) are equally cute in rustic gold or a beautiful holly green.
3 | Another adorable pair of flats is the Vanessa Tao Pointed Bow Flats (now $153).
4 | It’s easy to love a promo where you can pick up pretty tall boots like the Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn Harman Boots (now $174) at 30% off!
5 | I envision wearing the Nina Payne Sosa Pumps (now $195) out for a night of dancing.
6 | The Farylrobin Tessa Velvet Heels (now $100) would be perfect for work…in the grey anyway!
7 | The Schutz Arya Lace-Up Pumps (now $139) are a great neutral shoe.

What shoes are you ready to get for 30% off full price?

Well…none…because I live in Canada and we don't get Anthro shoes and boots in our stores and I refuse to pay the ridiculous duties/custom fees (which are sometimes charged and sometimes not) in addition to the shipping fees.

Btw Anthro at Rockefeller Center started a 50% off sale promotion today.

        Whooop!!!

OT- I just got one of those free shipping due to the cancellation SNAFU, does this mean there is really something wrong with Anthro's inventory system right now? The dress popback this morning so I ordered it again. I really don't want it to be another mistake.

Just called my store (Pasadena, California) and they told me 40% off sale 🙁 the extra 10% would have yielded over $30 bucks. Boo

    • January 6, 2017 / 6:54 pm

Aha! I'm not surprised. Pretty much the entire downstairs is sale as I mentioned yesterday.

But what I don't get is they missed the throngs of tourists by a week, why not do 50% off last week??

5th Ave in NYC is also offering extra 50% off sale in-store only, no charge sends.

Thanks evb…what is the dress you keep trying to buy, if you don't mind my asking? Popbacks can be so iffy, have you checked eBay just in case? I've been finding some real gems on eBay lately because I've been craving more style, a little more whimsy and structure:)

Costa Mesa, Victoria Garden, and Walnut Creek in CA all are 40% off sales. I called Rockerfeller and they said 50% will only apply to in-store purchase. No charge send unfortunately. Does anyone know which stores are doing 50% and if they are allowing charge send? thanks!

I thought most stores don't do charge sends anymore? Anyway I think on Monday all stores and online will be 50% off, so you can get PAs if so. Just a guess.

The 50% off in separate stores is maybe for larger cities or stores that have more sale merchandise left? I'm sure you all might be more knowledgeable about that. Either way, I called and my local store is still at 40%. Still good, so I won't complain.

I was able to get a PA on the Rainbow Tassel Scarf and saved $68. Win! Still waiting for it to arrive….

  7. Dina

I had 7 cancellations so far (all between $9.95 and $19.95 each) and 2 wrong orders (one wrong order was from right before the tag sale started – the wrong thing was in a bag labeled as the item I ordered, but I ended up liking what I got better than the thing I ordered, so it's alright).

With the other wrong order they sent me plant food instead of pants and the packing slip was correct. Both were $19.95 popbacks.

    • Jess
      January 6, 2017 / 8:17 pm

Wait, what, they actually sent you plant food instead? How in tarnation did they mess that order up so badly? That is so strange! At least you ended up liking your other order but wow that's a lot of cancellations you've had to go through.

      • Dina
        January 6, 2017 / 8:22 pm

Yes, they did. It came from their Terrain division. I never noticed Terrain on their website until now.

        • January 6, 2017 / 9:43 pm

Terrain has been around for a few years now! It was started by one of the Wendys, who was a former co-president of Anthropologie.

OT vent. Anthro has completely ruined the review section and no sign of fixing it. One tiny mistake and everything is gone – must start again. And forget uploading a picture after writing the review. Everything disappears. I've emailed CS everal times, but as per usual, anything concerning the websites ends in some purgatory.

    • Dina
      January 6, 2017 / 10:58 pm

I agree. Now I copy what I write before I hit enter in case it disappears so I can just paste it in again.

    • Jess
      January 6, 2017 / 11:05 pm

I tried several times to leave a review about a pair of boots but each time I tried, everything just disappeared so I gave up on it. I also miss seeing pics from the gallery from Anthro's blog so we could see a regular person modelling the clothes. Most of the time I found those pics to be more inspiring than the model ones.

      • evb
        January 7, 2017 / 3:15 pm

You know, I gave up too. It's amazing how many things are going wrong with Anthropologie these days. Website, inventory control, designs, quality, marketing. I don't know if I'm just being too demanding but it seems like every other order/interaction has some sort of issue.

Heck I'm still waiting on a price adjustment from Dec 24. I have called and written three times now.

      • Dina
        January 7, 2017 / 7:15 pm

Often after you select the number of stars and write your review, for some reason the stars disappear. So I make sure to copy what I wrote in case that happens and just select the star rating again and then paste the text. It usually works well.

    • Ann
      January 7, 2017 / 11:47 pm

I rely hugely on reviews. They now have to be quite short. I wish they still let you upvote ones you like, I always feel like it's a tiny virtual thank you for spending the time to review.
      Keep reviewing!

I did a PA yesterday for 40% off for something that also ended today, but the difference is only $2.00 so it's okay!

  13. Winnie
    January 6, 2017 / 7:28 pm

I hust went to the Rockefeller Store to ask for a PA on two sweaters and I skirt I bought last week at 40% off and was told they no longer offer PAs on additional percentage off. Is this a new policy? I just did a PA a few weeks ago with no problem at the same store but the guy said home office is enforcing this rule. Is this true?

    • Chewy
      January 6, 2017 / 11:55 pm

I was at rock center and got a PA from 40% to 50% a few hours ago…however, the person did not honor online orders only store orders. Im pretty sure the person who rang me up is a manager.

Sometimes when i dont have luck, i try again at a later time or at a different store and usually end up with a nicer associate (if its online, i just call again later lol). I know its a pain, but sometimes that 10% translates to a lot of money! All of it goes back to anthro anyway…i never leave empty. Just doing my share in clearing out their inventory ??

    • MissM
      January 10, 2017 / 12:51 am

Former SA here, it's always been official policy not to offer PAs on additional percentages but we always did it for store purchases. It really depends on the store and the managers 🙂 However, there is no way for a store to do an online PA, you need to contact customer service to adjust online orders.

  14. Anthropolitan
    January 6, 2017 / 8:11 pm

I wonder if the 50% will be in-store only. Although the stores are bursting at the seams, the online selection is pretty empty.

  15. stefanie
    January 6, 2017 / 8:12 pm

Online orders need to be adjusted by online. Although technically they could pretend you're returning it, and let you rebuy it in store.

    • Chewy
      January 7, 2017 / 1:13 am

I get online order price adjusted in store if the item total is less than 110 to get tax money back (sales tax begins for $110+ on clothing and shoes). Stores can definitely do price adjustment for online orders…online customer service cant do price adjustment for store purchases

OT, but have you all been reading “other” retail news? Sears is closing 150 stores, Macys 68, and now I wake up this morning to news that the Limited is closing all it's B&M stores. 80's girls will remember how hot the Limited was “back in the day. Remember Outback Red? And I don't remember a single paint-splattered shirt. They were THAT cool. 🙂

The one good piece of retail news I've been reading is that LL Bean just bought a factory double the size of the one they have now so that they can increase production of items made in the US. I hope you don't mind my including the link, Roxy – it's a nice read (and very short). I love the way they rave about their employees. 🙂 http://www.boston.com/news/business/2017/01/05/l-

The limited!!! I wore my shaker knit sweater to DEATH!!!!!!!
B+M stores are dying-but i think what anthro has ( that Macy's and sears definitely do NOT have) is the experience you get in-store.the service ( for the most part), the scent, the surroundings….

Oh I remember how I loved shopping at the Limited and thinking it was a big deal to wear something I bought from there! That's so sad to see all these companies that were once so huge to disappear like this. I'm glad that LL Bean is going to be expanding which means more jobs for people, they make pretty good quality stuff. I need some flannel sheets so I may buy a couple of sets from them soon as it's been super cold lately:)

    • Dina
      January 7, 2017 / 7:12 pm

A Macy's near where I live is closing. It's not that close to me though, so I don't ever go there (there's another one closer to me).

    • January 8, 2017 / 6:09 am

      • Anthropolitan
        January 8, 2017 / 4:28 pm

Hahahaha, popped collars!!! I forgot about those. Worn with the turned up pant cuffs and tucked into baggy socks. Oh my my.

And now we'd better stop talking about them before they come back too and we end up with an oversized paint-splattered shirt with a popped collar for $500. Because clearly right now Anthro is taking styling tips from our discontent. ..

So true! I've never seen the company having SO many issues going on at once! It was always just one or two things happening but they'd eventually get it fixed but now it's like they're letting it all linger around seemingly forever. I know this company makes the money so I don't get why they can't get anyone good to fix their website, it's so odd.

        January 8, 2017 / 1:27 am

I think I've finally figured out what the “European Silhouette” is. It's not the shape of clothing worn by Europeans; it's the fashion industry trying to recreate the silhouette of the actual continent of Europe itself.

          January 8, 2017 / 2:00 am

hahhaa, you guys are cracking me up.

But the good news is I get about $30 in price adjustments if things do go down another 10% on Monday. Does anyone think there will be second cuts as well?

          • Anthropolitan
            January 8, 2017 / 2:16 pm

I don't think we will see 2nd cuts for months. They are just getting rarer and rarer. The additional % off is great for first cuts, but it means that other things that have been on sale for ages never get a further markdown (and once the 40% off is over, they are really a lousy deal). One of my favorite things about the tag sale was that Anthro really seemed to clean house and put everything out there, and I'd always find an oldie for really cheap. Last year I got a pair of distressed AG Tomboys for $12!!! I took a peek this year, and even things from the summer still had not been marked down further (plus they were in horrible shape after how many hands they have passed through). I saw nothing under $40.

Thanks for the advice! Denim pencil skirt and jeans that's the only items that worked for me. I do own the vannia pencil skirt ( love it!) and tried it on with the scalloped lace Henley. The combo looked weird to me. Skirt pattern peaking through the lace was looking messy, distorted. The top didn't work with any of the patterned skirts I own. Looks like another top that can be worn with denim only.

    • Anthropolitan
      January 8, 2017 / 2:01 pm

It's ivory; I would think any solid color of slim pants or skirt would work, I love ivory and burgundy or plum together. Also deep green, olive or teal. do you have the Gallery skirt? I think it would go with any of the colors. I'd go with a tight that is slightly lighter than the color of the skirt – rose with burgundy, aqua with the teal and a paler pink with the pink. Then an neutral bootie – taupe, brown, black navy or grey. https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/gallery-skirt?…

If you're doing pants I'd accessorize in a similar color scheme to tie the look together. You can have so much fun with ivory!

  30. January 8, 2017 / 4:49 pm

UGH. Well how is this for annoying — apparently on online orders fulfilled by stores my new apartment number didn't make it through, so THREE of my Christmas Day orders are waiting at the UPS distribution center in the city, which is only accessible by car, and we just parked our Jeep for the winter so I have no way to get out there!

Since I was in CT all last week with my Mom cleaning out Dad's stuff, I have exactly ONE day left to pick up my packages. I'd be steaming mad if I wasn't so bemused by the ridiculousness of it all.

    • Anthropolitan

Oh goodness, Roxy. Anthro has a lot of trouble getting new addresses in order. I moved over a year ago and I still have to check and recheck that they got my address right. I hope that you get your packages. Maybe take public transport as far as you can and then grab a taxi or Uber from there?

      • January 8, 2017 / 11:14 pm

That's a great idea, but the UPS center is in a really bad part of Brooklyn, so I'd rather drive. Possibly a Lyft — good suggestion.

    • mchozemp
      January 9, 2017 / 12:45 am

I had that issue (missing office suite rather than apartment number) at the beginning of December with a package from Disney (my first order from them). I emailed Disney, and within four hours, UPS was calling me to confirm the office number and to assure me that the package would be delivered to my office the next day. And it was.

      • January 9, 2017 / 11:33 am

If only Anthropologie's Customer Service were that responsive! It could take a few days with them and I only have a day left — today — to pick them up. I don't want to risk the items getting shipped back since they are now mostly sold out.

Possibly, but I'm not sure I could get everything re-coordinated in time.

Why couldn't they just redeliver with the additional information? Sounds like a huge PITA, so sorry Roxy 🙁

Does anyone know when the TAGTIME promo ends? Has Anthro said anything? I can't imagine it would be anytime soon what with the overflowing sale racks at my 2 local stores. I really wish that they would turn on store fulfillment again since the online stock looks to be so “picked over” and has been for weeks. Maybe they could actually move some of this stuff if people were able to, you know, order it?? I was at one of the stores yesterday and saw a TON of dresses that the website has had listed as 'out of stock' for over a month. So silly.

I think winter tag sales have lasted for 4 weeks in the past.

It typically lasts until the last week of January.

Yay got a bunch of shipping charges waived today (but I also spent lots and lots of money online and in store over the past 2 weeks).
