The prettiest, warmest lately’s at Anthropologie

Buffalo Plaid Vest ($168) — the perfect fall wrap-me-up layer?

This morning I wore a long-sleeve top layer on my morning run/dog walk for the first time since summer began and that inspired me to take a look at some of the warmer-layer Anthropologie new arrivals.

Whatever the weather, sweaters are better. Some of the prettiest new ones that showed up over the weekend inside…

The Nolina Pullover ($88) continues Anthro’s brilliant trend of lace-peeking tops.

I have to admit I’ve developed a small addiction to Anthropologie’s tie-back and lace-peeking tops. The The Nolina Pullover ($88) is just one in an ever-growing line of items that also includes the Edda Lace Top ($88).

I’m also loving the kimono arms of the Patched Sweatshirt Poncho ($248), the fuzziness and fluffiness of the Zigged Formation Pullover ($138) and the contrasting boldness and beauty of the Dotted Lace Top ($118).

Want this beautiful coat, and the culottes underneath too!

Anthropologie is certainly known for its beautiful fall coats and the Fulton Robe Coat ($398) is no exception. I. Am. Drooling! While wide-leg pants aren’t usually my thing I’m also quite enamored with the butterfly-adorned Mariposa Silk Culottes ($248) underneath.

And then there are the coats that leave me scratching my head. Someone will have to explain the appeal of the Abbot Coat ($298) to me. The Northland Moto Jacket ($138) on the other hand looks promising, although perhaps a bit too cropped. Love that it comes in both cream and black though!

The stunning, sweater-y looking Josette Dress ($348).

Another thing Anthropologie does so well is sweater-material clothing, like dresses and skirts. I’m not totally sure that the Josette Dress ($348) but it certainly looks that way online. If anyone can pull off a super curve-flattering sweater dress, Byron Lars is the designer who can. I’m also loving his new Leopardo Lace Dress ($695) though that price gives me pause. (Or paws, yuk yuk.) Then again looking at all the intricate details I can totally understand why the price sits where it does. His Cabled Lace Dress ($548) is another fantastically pretty frock I hope to try on soon.

Sweater skirts are also starting to make an appearance. I noticed the pretty Cima Pencil Skirt ($198) right away. Ditto the Seneca Skater Skirt ($118). Now that Anthro isn’t drowning us with mini skirts it’s lovely to see a few popping up now and then. Don’t go too far though Anthropologie! The Bordered Jacquard Sweater Skirt ($118) is a nice knee-length option

Ahh, sweatery stuff. What’s warm and on your to-buy list?
