Peter Som is one of my favorite women’s wear designers — his Spring 2013 and Spring 2012 Ready-to-Wear NYFW presentations are among my most-loved ever and I desperately want this dress from his Spring 2010 presentation like, now. His eye for beautiful prints and feminine shapes makes him a no-brainer choice to collaborate with Anthropologie.
Following up on their 2013 capsule collection today Anthropologie x Peter Som Made in Kind launches its second capsule collection! To say I am drooling would be an understatement…
Right now seven pieces from the capsule collection are available and if this Instagram and this one are any indication, there’s more to come. The latter looks just like my beloved Minuet Dress which the community and my favorite Anthro Personal Shopper were able to help me hunt down back in the winter of 2013/early 2014. I wear that dress to the ballet at least once a year and always get drenched in compliments (which I adore).
The Saba Shift Dress ($268) above would have been perfect at my last client, a job which required me to move about the art world and attend lots of cocktail parties. I could see this dress being perfect for an evening art world occasion!
Although the sleeve length is not ideal on me, the Madeline Dress ($248) is my other favorite piece from the capsule. I love the brilliant red color and the abstract floral print. I could see getting plenty of use out of this dress in the fall for all kinds of reasons, from work to dates to girls nite out!
The same print is also available in a surprisingly cute mini skirt. (Love that the zip does not go all the way down the skirt.) I totally adore the striped sweater paired with the skirt in the product shot, which is also part of this Made in Kind capsule. I am crossing my fingers that this ‘online exclusive’ collection will be available in the Rockefeller Center Anthro here in NYC.
Ahh Made in Kind, I have missed you! And I’m delighted to see Peter Som back too. These price points are much more accessible than his lines ever were, by several hundred dollars less.
