Fall has arrived in Anthropologie’s New Arrivals!! Falling in love or falling over?

The Painter’s Palette Sheath ($158), one of Anthropologie’s Fall 2014 new arrivals.
This looks beautiful — it’s an online exclusive though.

The September catalogue preview isn’t up on Anthropologie’s website yet (although a couple of items are on the EU site). In the meantime tons of new fall items have appeared! Fall is typically my favorite clothing season. I love wearing layers, I love the color palette, I love the styling options slightly thicker material affords.

How does Anthropologie’s Fall assortment look? Inside, some of the most intriguing new items…

I knew it would be very difficult for Anthropologie to follow up last year’s fall perfection. It was like I had my own new arrivals section! There are some ideas I’m excited about here…nothing that’s bowled me over yet. The Mona Dress ($258) could be a promising Fall/Winter work dress, the Floral Flannel Shift ($138) might become a closet staple. In addition to all the dresses above, the Yael Dress ($128) looks like late-summer perfection. Overall this collection seems quiet to me. Perhaps that’s a good thing? I’m curious to hear what you think.

I’m delighted by the Fairview Blazer ($88), which reminds me of a Chanel tweed jacket from 2008 that I couldn’t afford at the time. The tops are interesting, I didn’t find any skirts to add to the ones I featured last week. Seriously though the Emerald Garden Pencil Skirt ($138) needs to get into my closet right now. I’m off to the store tomorrow to give as many of these as I can find a try (some of them are online-only of course but I’ll hope that the NYC stores have them anyway) in addition to reviews coming up later this week. What are your first thoughts about the newest arrivals? I’ll cover shoes (still 20% off!) & accessories in another post.
