Metapost: Gobble Gobble!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! This is one of my favorite holidays because it’s a pure national pride holiday that Americans can celebrate together whether you’re a first generation immigrant or been here since before the Mayflower stopped by.

I have much to be thankful for this year to the degree that I’m about to get really corny. First let me say that I’m incredibly thankful for our troops deployed around the world that keep me free to worry about first world problems. To all of our servicepeople and their families, you have my heartfelt thanks for sacrificing your togetherness on our nation’s behalf.

And of course I’m also incredibly thankful to you!! I adore the EA community and thank you for the support of EA over the past four years. You are helping me grow a business and a passion and words will never properly convey how much I appreciate your discussion, your emails and tips, your photos for Reader Outfits and Eye Candy, your nice comments and your support through clicks. And then there are my sister bloggers that make up my extended Anthropologie blogging family. From voices that are silent these days like Tien, Tara, Anjali, Maria and others to my LA Grove shopping partners Carol & Kim to our impressive color mixmaster Molly, or my first and still blogging hero Chloe, or EA’s fairy blogmother Alexis, or the incomprable stylist FFM and my hilarious sister-in-reviewing Gigi, or my favorite outfit poster Lisa and my new favorite faces like Jeannie, Rosalyn and Maria and every single blog on the EA blogroll, you are all wonderful beyond belief. I’m also very thankful for Anthropologie, which lets me blog about them unofficially and in general is very supportive of the community.

Beyond that I’m of course thankful for my wonderful family and crazy awesome friends. For my pup Cinnamon who is the cutest dog ever. For my ridiculous apartment which is super tiny but has lots of light and incredible views of Manhattan, and for its placement outside of the flooded Sandy zones all around. For the privilege of being able to take a sabbatical from work this year and have a real summer vacation. For the guy I fell in head-over-heels in love with and lost (twice) but who has made me a better person in my current relationship. For the wonderful trips I took this year. For everyone who’s working today (I have been there) and would rather be home, or the ones who are happy to be out and about today instead of stuck at home (I’ve been there too). For all the retailers that chose to be closed today. For whatever luck I’ve had. For my biggest issue today being whether to wear my heavy or light snowboarding jacket.

Enjoy the day, EA. Tomorrow we’ll have an open thread for Black Friday — get the latest details in this morning’s post.
