Time for some Saturday Eye Candy! This week is a special edition. Every so often Anthropologie will hold fashion shows at its stores, so customers can get an idea of how to put together outfits from the myriad of options available to buy. This past Thursday Leifsdottir’s diffusion line Leifnotes got the model treatment in a special event at the Soho Anthropologie here in NYC.

I love these events for so many reasons. First, Leifsnotes head designer (and Anthropologie Executive Creative Director of Anthropologie Product Design) Johanna Uurasjarvi attended the event. In fact so did a bunch of staff from the home office in Philadelphia, including anthropologie.com’s Head Personal Shopper Christina.

Secondly, the show’s models were Anthropologie staff and customers. Models of various ethnicities, age groups, heights and body types were represented. And everyone looked incredible! I will never understand why the catalogues can’t be like this too. The clothing looked amazing and relateable because it was on a variety of bodies. It made me take a second look at items I initially passed on.

And finally it’s always fun to go to an after-hours event catered specifically to you. Everyone in the house was an Anthropologie lover. Instant icebeaker! The Soho store staff did a fabulous job with the snacks, drinks and the runway itself. The models walked up onto a raised platform which made taking photos so much easier. Much appreciated, Soho staff!!

Thanks to Stephanie of Bar Chic for snapping this photo!

My partner-in-crime for the night was the lovely Usha of Tripping the Light Fantastic. We met a few members of the community who were lovely and had a great time mingling. Everyone seemed to have an item in mind (or two, or three) that they were hoping to see in the show or around the store. And yes, just about everyone I saw purchased something before the evening was over.

Which outfit is your favorite? For me it’s a toss-up between look #11 and look #16. I like a few of the others but they aren’t as good for my body type (i.e. look #6 which I adore but never on me). After the show Stephanie, Usha and I chatted with the staff and models, tried on some things and hoped to win one of the raffle prizes. Alas that last one was not meant to be. I ended up purchasing no Leifnotes items, instead taking home the new multi-motif version of the Openwork Tee ($78, previous version reviewed here) and the Esker Maxi Skirt ($118). Both will be perfect for my upcoming Hawaii trip.

A few more photos to set the scene below, you can see my complete set of photos from the evening here. Kudos to all the amazing models as well as the Anthro team that styled each look! The show also had hair by Paul Mitchell and makeup by Mud (which is located just below the Soho Anthropologie). Thanks to Anthropologie for the invite! I can’t wait for the next show.
