Note: Eye Candy will run tomorrow morning!

A couple of weeks ago, I thought I scored a popback of the Endless Knot Ring Set ($30). My excitement was short-lived when the rings got cancelled from order and the sad face came to visit me. The community, however, came through for me as usual. Thanks to Athalie I discovered that the rings are available to purchase directly from artist Erica Weiner’s site. Did I hesitate? Not even for a second. Better yet Athalie supplied a free shipping code — FREESHIP — that helped me score the rings for same price I’d have gotten them from Anthropologie.

I’m delighted that Anthropologie purchased these rings from Ms. Weiner rather than making their own knock-off. Kudos Anthro!!

Ms. Weiner is located right in NYC (On Elizabeth Street!) so the rings came quite quickly, packaged in a beautiful box. Only two sizes of the ring set were available on the website: 5 or 6.5. I decided to order the 6.5, though I am normally a size 7 on my right hand. The website has a helpful sizing guide PDF if you need to determine your ring size.

The rings are vibrant in real life. Both the gold and rose gold catch the sun nicely. It’s important to note that these rings are plated, not solid material. Not that I would expect anything else for $30. One quirk I did notice is that the rings have a visible seam on the “bottom,” the side that rests on the inside of your finger. At first I thought they were meant to be an adjustable ring but I guess the mold didn’t quite line up when these were cast. It’ll only be noticeable to me but it’s a bit annoying.

Who could resist these rings once they’re on your finger? I tried them a couple of different ways — with both knots facing upwards in the far left shot above and with the knots facing each other in the two other shots. I decided I liked the knots facing each other better because the rings look seamless. You can wear these together or alone, facing up or down. It’s nice to have options.

Sizing-wise the 6.5 was indeed too small for my size 7 right ring finger but luckily the 6.5 fit fine on my left hand. I wore these to work yesterday and was asked not once but twice on the subway where the rings were from. I am happy to support Ms. Weiner directly but I also hope Anthropologie restocks these pretty rings.

Another recent purchase are See by Chloe’s Scalloped Suede Clog Boots (now $150). These were a total impulse buy when I was constructing last week’s sale post — I love scallops on shoes and though the heel is ridiculously high something about these said “comfortable.” Helping out is the sole, which only has a wood heel instead of being all-wood like many clogs are.

I am normally a 9 in shoes but these were Euro sizing and there slim pickings left online. So I went with a 40, which according to Anthropologie’s boot sizing chart equates to a size 10. (By the way, I wish Anthropologie would update their boot sizing chart! Shoes from Brazil fit different from shoes from Italy. And “imported” is not very helpful Anthro! If the shoes come from China just admit it.)

The heel is just over 4 inches and the platform is about an inch high. My issue with clogs is usually that they pitch my foot forward. Not with these shoes — they were incredibly steady! Though the 40s felt a bit large they were not so loose that I needed an insert. So I’d say you’ll want to size up at least 1/2 a size from your usual choice. The side zip make for easy on-off and the opening is wide enough for my thicker legs. The tongue slides down a bit when you put the boots on but was easily to gently pull back into place.

Overall these boots are awesome! Want to see some IRL shots? Come back on Sunday for Reader Outfits — I’ll be wearing them in my look!!
