Retailers want us to start thinking about fall already…but I’m not quite ready yet. The sun is too intense upon my head and the heat makes even considering wool a useless exercise. Right now I’m still pouring over flowy dresses and barely there tank tops.
My wishlist mostly reflects the urge to keep things light. Nanette Lepore’s fall collection looks amazing, and by sneaking in the La Boheme Dress ($378) summer can last just a bit longer. I just hope that the dress makes it to work-appropriate length when I try it on! Perhaps I can pair J.Crew’s Mona Leather Heels ($198) with the dress. For the weekend I’m tempted to add the Ridealong Sunglasses By Cutler & Gross ($450) to take the look to throwback, though the price of these sunglasses gives me pause. Especially since I tend to lose a pair every other week — in the couch, on the subway, on my head, etc. Later when the weather cools down I’ll trade the white rimmed sunblockers for Rag and Bone’s Leigh Wool Jacket ($575) over the look with a long chain necklace to finish things off.
I can’t get bags off the brain — you’ll see more below. I dream of adding Longchamp’s super sleek ‘Roseau’ Toggle Closure Leather Tote ($510) to my work arsenal. I have to admit that Kate Spade earrings you see above are already in my jewelry collection. My boyfriend surprised me with them as a gift just because, and they are wonderful little delights.

Speaking of things I already bought, my trips to Anthropologie have increased steadily over the past few weeks now that I’m properly back home in NYC. Though I’m sad my travels are done for now I’m thrilled with what I’m seeing in-store. So much so that temptation has already gotten the best of me with a few items. I purchased the Cocora Bag (now $100) a couple of weeks ago when it first went on sale, and thanks to Anita I was able to get a PA yesterday, getting back enough for a new dress. (Thanks also to Anthro for making the second cut in two weeks rather than the usual 3 or 4. I’m putting that spending money right back to you, I promise.)
While in-store I couldn’t help but notice the adorable Fine-Ruled Satchel ($268), and after inspecting it closely I grabbed it right up. A full review of this bag will come tonight. One other impulse buy I don’t regret a bit is Linea Pelle’s super cool Ring Upon Ring Belt ($48). I don’t wear belts a lot, but this piece works well as a hip-slung outfit accent or waist cincher. I sized up to a large for a looser fit — there are plenty of holes to set the belt as tight or loose as you like.
