Email: Anthropologie introduces BHLDN

Well lookie here. With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching it looks as though Anthropologie is ready to chat about Beholden (I’m sorry, I don’t do all consonants) after all! This morning my inbox had this pretty email above from Anthropologie officially introducing their wedding line, which will debut on February 14, 2011. Thanks are due as well to JessPGH from Consume or Consumed, who noted that Beholden’s site is up and running and you can sign up for the email list. According to The Street‘s article linked at the bottom of this post, event dresses will range from $200 to $600 and wedding dresses will be in the $1,000 to $4,000 range.

I can’t help but feel a bit vindicated. You see, way back in 2008 I wondered if Anthropologie would consider doing a wedding line. And I can’t help but think that maybe somebody at Anthropologie was like, ‘by george, that roxy girl might be onto something!’ And then they stood up at their desk, hit the intercom to the secretary, and said, ‘Get me someone who knows about weddings!’ And there were meetings, and planning, and people traveling around to wedding trunk shows, and designs, and fitting models, all together in a montage set to some romantic pop song.

Yes, I’m sure that’s exactly how it went.

Also, since my post earlier this week on the topic, I’ve received several more tips about the line. But since Anthropologie didn’t seem to like the freedom of information so much, instead I’ll just give you a tease: Anthropologie is planning not one but two Beholden boutiques! And the second one is going to be in a major city. I won’t say which city yet and I’m guessing Kim will probably get the scoop. The boutiques won’t open at the same time but they will open pretty close together in timing.

Want to know more? Stay tuned.
