Styled: Cooling Palette Dress

This post is for Sarah Elizabeth, who asked for styling options for the Cooling Palette Dress. These sets were all created by EA intern Rebekah who is currently prepping for the new school year. Good luck, Rebekah!!

This dress should be showcased and celebrated while it’s still warm out. So for this first look Rebekah left the dress as the star and picked accessories to showcase it. The scarf and bag continue the whimsical feel of the dress and the necklace is a tiny ode to summer. The boots are the sole contrasting element in this look and delivers a hint of an edge. If you prefer to keep the look soft wrap those out for a pair of sandals in a blush pink.

Next up is a more casual look. I love the hat — it’s beach-ready for these dog days of summer. (And yes, contrary to what retailers think it is still summer.) Rebekah chose a great hat here that matches the retro style of the dress. The drop earrings will look simply darling dangling below the brim. A pair of rectangular sunglasses pays tribute to the return of the 80s. Selected as well are sandals with soles both big and small, so you can dictate your height as you wish.

Cooling Palette by night? Absolutely. All you really need is the right clutch and you’ll be ready for dinner and maybe some dancing or wherever the night takes you. This dress is gorgeous enough that it doesn’t call for many frills on hot summer evenings. A carefully chosen pair of sandals, like the neutral ones chosen here, are summery but comfortable enough to last all night. A simple pair of drop earrings and a sealike bracelet round out this look.

One last look is in order — this one would work well for the transition to fall. I love the idea of something sheer over this dress. The Illuminated Way Blouse has an easy guaze-y feel to it that lends itself well to being a warm weather topper. A belt adds some structure to the look while the necklace draws the eye to whatever little part of the dress is peeping out of the v-neck. An abstract skirt and some intriguingly devious sandals complete this look.
