Outfits: In the News

When I first graduated college I worked two jobs, one of which was splitting my time between two Connecticut newspapers as a copy editor and page designer on the night desk. I miss that job so!! Anthropologie’s latest outfit set email had me feeling rather nostalgic for plotting columns and writing snappy headlines. Once my focus turned to the outfits I was snapped back to the present which themselves have newsworthy potential.

The look above is probably my favorite. I have a weakness for flowers plastered along necklines and the Dried Leaves Dress ($158) fits right in to that aesthetic. I am somewhat apprehensive seeing it’s by Girls from Savoy though as that brand has been a challenge in fit. Layering the With a Twist Henley ($58, review here) below is great move and gives me some more styling ideas for that top. Love this look!

Also in this outfit: British Poise Cincher ($48) and Caladoc Heels ($258).

Slouchy crops are like heaven to me though I didn’t recognize the Seamed & Slouched Crops ($118, review here) at first. They look very different cuffed! While the Formally Layered Cardigan ($148) looks really good here I tried on its cousin the Cozy-Times-Two Cardigan ($148) and it looked pretty silly on me. Review coming this weekend. Maybe the secret is to have my hands in my pockets all day.

Also in this outfit: Covert Poppy Top ($68), Clara’s Slipper Flats ($80) and Escargot Glow Clip-ons ($238).

This outfit set had me running to the store in search of the Pittore Dress ($168). The dress is beautiful in person but was a true sheath, and therefore a complete fail on me. Oh well. I can change in another cute printed dress here — maybe Leifsdottir’s Arena Dress ($278)? My review of the Pittore will run this weekend. The choice of shoe here is brilliant. I love the toughness of Old Clem’s Peep Toes ($168) even if peep-toe booties confuse the heck outta me.

Also in this outfit: Houndstooth Tights ($16) and Verdure Rapids Scarf ($38).

I am falling in love with the Falling In Love Vest ($118), especially when it’s paired with something as beautiful as the 1952 Skirt ($138)! The Dotty Clusters Tights ($16) look fantastic here too and I think I may have just found my new fall tights. Oh Anthro, you taunt us so!

Also in this outfit: It’s A Cinch Top ($48), Punch Card Belt ($48), Bursting Sky Slingbacks ($228), Organic Blooms Necklace ($48).
