I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.
This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be!
Some FAQs….
– What does “sub” mean?
It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by checking the “send follow-up comments to x email address” box in the comment form.
– Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it’s been x hours and I haven’t heard squat. What should I do?
I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
– Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it’s gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it’s just at the bottom of a big ol’pile. Unfortunately, you’re out of luck.

Returning a size 10 Blazing Rays Dress to Cincinnati this weekend. (It runs one size small–I'm usually an 8, 36C). If anyone wants it, let me know and I'll put it on hold.
A Scalloped Sailor Skirt in 0 just popped up online on my wishlist! In my opinion, the 0 doesn't feel much smaller than the 2, so hopefully it works for one of you. 🙂

I bought a At-First-Sight Jacket sz 10 when I saw it paired with the blue Things & Joys dress in my local Anthro. Unfortunatelly, the jacket is too small for me. I need a sz 12. My local anthro had a M in both colors. It was the Anthro in Old Hyde Park, Tampa, FL 813-250-3600. And just a heads up, I bought mine from an eBay seller for $46 (including shipping)! It came in the mail with the Anthro tags still attached. She has a few more, the store name is ShopLilyWang. Highly recommended!

So I just scored the Whirling Ruffles Dress in a M for $9.95 out of the NOvember Anthro catalog. It's still showing there is a Large available for $49.95. Call CS and ask them how much it is in stores, $9.95, and they will give it to you for that! Quick someone jump on this!!! Awesome deal!!!

Brittany B: How do you manage to get CS to give you the PA on an older item? I ordered the Bustling Avenues dress from the Aug. 2009 catalog on popback last night, and b/c they can't find 3 of them in stores, CS won't give me the PA. 🙁 I've had this happen to me before on another item too.My store doesn't seem to have any problems giving me a PA, so I can just take it to them, but it would be nice not to have to make an extra trip there just for that.Is there some "secret" that I'm missing when I call CS??? And BTW, does anyone know what the Bustling Avenues dress was marked down to in stores? CS says $29.95, but I'm almost positive someone from this community said they got it for $9.95 sometime in April.Thanks!

Hi Tulip,I got the Bustling Avenues Dress from a store last month for $9.95!To get the PA on the Whirling Ruffles, I called and asked them how much it is showing in stores, they said $9.95, and I asked them if they could give it to me for that price. In this case there were enough of that dress in stock in stores that she did. I ordered it with her by phone. No shipping chrges wither! So total cost, $10.71!!!!!

pennyfarthing – nope, new stores don't typically have any special grand opening perks.Try the Skokie, IL store in Old Orchard mall for the Claudine Tee – the had a lot last time I was there.
Pennyfarthing and other Austinites- I actually had a special invite to the Opening of the store last night and went with a friend. We got all dolled up, but left kinda disappointed. We entered our name for a raffle (not sure what the price was) but that was it for any perks. The store is open and bright (it reminds me of the San Antonio Anthro), but it does not carry shoes and the sales room is small. Since the Domain and Downtown stores are at an equal distance for me, my preference will still be Downtown (which is so much larger than the Domain and prettier), but that is just my opinion.

Pennyfarthing (and others) I went to the new Austin Anthro today and it was so fun to be in a brand new store! I went a little crazy and bought 3 full-price items (*squeal*) which I NEVER do. I always wait for sale. But they had the Circle the Globe skirt so of course I had to buy the teal and they also had the Whirl and Wind cardi in gold which is backordered online so I HAD to snatch one up. Has anyone seen a Covered-in-cables Cardi in dark yellow, size small anywhere? I called customer service a week ago and ordered it with them, but I haven't been able to get a confirmation. I called back 3 times about it and each time, I'm told that my order is in the system, but there are no notes on the status. They keep telling me I will get a confirmation email within 24 hours. I just ordered the Vanilla Bean Blouse online. There was a sz 4 still available online. Does anyone know how much this blouse costs in the stores now? Just a quick PSA to the ebay shoppers, I would recommend you never arrange buys off of the site after auction. I had a good friend lose $2000 by buying a sewing machine after an auction ended (when the seller never actually had the item to start with). I know most sellers are legit, but just beware and keep your purchase through ebay so they are backed up!By the way, Tysons Corner VA had the green Beda dress in size 0 and 2 (two of each), not on sale but I thought someone was looking for it in a 2? I then asked if it was worth the drive out there and she said well it was smaller and explained to me about the levels. (I know the space it wnt in to and the square footage is definitely less. I asked what that meant and she said well it didn't have shoes, and less housewares and a smaller stockroom (so to me that means probably not as good for sales).I didn't think to ask if that also meant they don't carry all the style or colors of clothes or if they just carry less of each item.Carmen

anyone who might be interested in the carved celadon heels by Biviel, they had 3 size 39's and I think a 38 at the Austin Downtown location (512-236-9301) on sale for $89.95. Also noticed an Acting Out skirt in size 10 in the sale room. Bouganevilla cardis, several M's, some S's; the sale room was jam-packed with items. Lots of seabound skirts. oh, and they had the new Picture Perfect Clogs by Miss Albright there to try on. These fit exactly like the Bouquet of Roses heels as far as sizing. I actually had to go DOWN a half-size, not up, as the description online states. Just FYI. And they are LOVELY on. Very comfy.

Question ladies: Has anybody bought the Well-Buttoned Tank? I got it in a M, but the straps, like a lot of Anthro tanks, are like 2" too long on me. I didn't size down because I was afraid it would be too tight/too short. I'm wondering now if the sizing is really that different, or if maybe I should exchange it for an S. Is anybody else having this issue with it? What did you ladies do?

There is a size 4 Gathered Alyssum Dress showing as a pop up on page 35 of the September 09 catalog for $29.95. I called CS and asked how much it was in stores ($9.95!!!)and they gave me the size 6 (which is still showing for some reason) for $9.95. So the 6 is gone. Someone jump on the 4 before it's gone!
