Have you checked out the New Arrivals? I am dying! I love the Twinkling Dress, Filtered Rays Blouse, and the Circle the Globe Skirt! I can't wait for my catalog.Although, I never did receive the April catalog. Still waiting for CS to mail me one like they said they would when I contacted them.

Oh… that Sunwashed Dots Dress just grabbed hold of my heart! I love the faded stripes and green sash combo!! GRABBY HANDS.

Lately it's seemed like Anthropologie hasn't been offering the same selection of truly tempting shoes that I've come to expect. So I guess it makes sense that so many of the shots from the May catalog feature barefoot models.

unrelated to the may catalogue…but i saw anthro's facebook update on derby outfits and wanted to check out the hat section again (seems like quite a few new ones have been added in the last week?). i notice this one as "free" 😛 oops…Sundried Hat

Hi Roxy! Thanks for posting abt the May catalogue. It is always nice to get the heads up on new clothing. More eye candy to drool over. From the pictures you posted, it seems to me that the location for this month's catalogue is my neck of the woods, Southern India. The stone architecture that you see in a couple of pictures is a classic of South Indian temples.

  7. April 28, 2010 / 6:22 pm

Lola – me too! I'm just assuming our invites are getting lost in the mail.Tien – I am drooling to be sure. I see plenty of great options for my upcoming Mexico trip and your upcoming Hawaii excursion. :)Betsy – Agreed! It does remind me of J.Crew's recent zebra stripe dress though, I'm surprised at how similar they seem (and then again not so surprised).AL – ha, interesting take. I agree though, this year's shoe crop has had a few pairs I love but mostly misses.shares – that is hysterical. Also unfortunate for Anthro, hope they fix that one quickly!

Seriously, the May catalog preview shots and the items themselves that debuted this morning are killing me! I was doing good on willpower for so long but now there are all these new things that I want :)And Archana is right, this is clearly shot in India, which is pretty cool. The shot agains the scooters, if nothing else, is a dead giveaway 🙂 (Though I have to say I hated Free People's last India catalog shoot, which bordered on culturally insensitive.)

  9. April 28, 2010 / 6:23 pm

Archana – oooh, thank you so much for the insight. India is next on my list of countries to visit! I have friends in Mumbai but would love to travel around.

  10. April 28, 2010 / 6:25 pm

Oh..one more thing that confirms that they were shot in a temple is that the models in those shots are not wearing shoes or sandals. Shoes are not allowed inside temples.I'm so psyched that Anthro went to India and espcially my state for the shoot. Can't wait to get the catalogue in my hands.

  11. April 28, 2010 / 6:26 pm

archana, good call! it does look like india. i am visiting in january–very excited. does anyone else snicker at the "gurgling ripples"? roxy, thanks for posting these. i love oohing and aahing over the goods but i can't wait to see it all in person.

  12. April 28, 2010 / 6:30 pm

and as for the may catalogue, i love the look of the shifting feathers dress! but jersey…i remember reading in tim gunn's guide that jersey anything on bottom (skirts, pants) is a bad idea. but there are so many jersey dresses and skirts now…i think if properly lined or if it's a thicker jersey, it should be fine 🙂

  13. April 28, 2010 / 6:34 pm

So excited to get the paper copy in the mail!

  14. April 28, 2010 / 6:47 pm

Roxy, have I told you lately that I love you? Thanks so much for posting this preview! I'm so excited to get my catalog…!

  15. April 28, 2010 / 6:48 pm

So many adorable new arrivals this morning! The Circle the Globe skirt looks so fabulous-hoping for a review soon on that one… :)Also, Roxy do you happen to know if a pair of trousers is available in various lengths on the website, are they also available that way in-store? just wondering as there's a pair of trousers that have sold out online in the length I need….thanks!

India for sure… <3 I think my heart just stopped.

  17. April 28, 2010 / 7:16 pm

Ahhh Circle the Globe Skirt! Very strikingly similar to Thousand Days and Great Escape skirts. I'm getting at least 2 colors, since I don't have the other previous incarnations. The blue one looks particularly pretty.

  18. April 28, 2010 / 7:19 pm

Sharon – for trousers usually not, they only carry the longer/petite inseams online. I'm mad that Anthro has really cut back on tall inseams. Betty – agreed, I love the skirt! It looks longer than the Thousand Days/Great Escape which would be perfect, as that one was just an inch or two too short for me.

  19. April 28, 2010 / 7:23 pm

    wow!!!!! go anthro!!!

  20. April 28, 2010 / 7:37 pm

I have been fawning over the new arrivals all day. . Can't wait to see them IRL, especially the Sunwashed Dots Shirtdress and the Gossamer Waves Dress (seems very versatile and has pockets). Thanks for the post Roxy!

  21. April 28, 2010 / 8:19 pm

I just noticed the linking! Thanks, Roxy, it's always much appreciated! The Filtered Rays Blouse is so beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing it on you!

  22. April 28, 2010 / 8:48 pm

Roxy, I agree with you on the length on the Circle The Globe Skirt…much better! And the Painted Hillside Tank in blue is very lovely. 🙂

  23. April 28, 2010 / 9:07 pm

I thought it was just me. I never received the April catalog also.

  24. April 28, 2010 / 11:33 pm

I saw the temples and whooped for joy! Agree with Archana and Anjali – the architecture in these temples are phenomenal – I cant wait to see the full catalog now 🙂

  25. April 29, 2010 / 12:54 am

One of these days I WILL get a catalog. One of these days.

  26. April 29, 2010 / 12:58 am

Very excited for the May catalog to arrive! It looks like the Ambrosial Cardi is somewhat similar in style/construction to the beloved Dwarf Quince Cardi! (Hm, not to buy or not to buy..I've been loving the Dwarf since I got it!)

This exotic location is India. I am from Southern India. You can see the "Kolam" (the floral pattern in the "Shifting Feathers Dress"! The last "In The Air Tank" top has the model leaning on an Auto Rickshaw (3 wheeler similar to Thai tuk-tuk)"Sunwashed Dots Shirtdress" has the model leaning on a possibly a bullock-cart with sacks of potatoes (or onions)Several temple shots (Madurai Meenakshi temple, perhaps?):)

It is so nice that they have the models going barefoot at the temples, instead of strutting some cool Chie Mihara shoes!- same Abon at April 28, 2010 10:45 PM(years ago some other catalog photoshoot had bikini-clad models strutting around inside Hagia Sophia! I was shocked.)

  29. April 29, 2010 / 3:51 am

Anon – I too thought it was Madurai Meenakshi temple but without seeing the other shots I wouldn't be able to tell. Besides most temples look fairly similar.. again can't wait to see the full catalog and can't wait to see the Sunwashed dots sundress in person..

  30. April 29, 2010 / 3:54 am

Pretty! I love the Ambrosial Cardigan- *grabs*

  31. April 29, 2010 / 9:44 pm

i love it! how did you get views before the catalog came out? amazing. loves!britt

  32. April 30, 2010 / 1:08 am

Ohhh!!! I cannot tell you how excited the May catalogue makes me feel. I am probably in the minority here, but I haven't been this excited about any of Anthro's new arrivals in YEARS. Yes, it's probably been since July or August of 2008. I love scouring Ebay for older pieces I missed out on, because newer offerings are just so…meh. I mean, rompers? Seriously? Who wears these things in public? My first Anthro purchase was Lithe's River of Grass dress which was featured on the cover of the April 2007 catalogue. I adore that dress to this day, and I sincerely hope Anthro continues to offer beautiful, sophisticated, unique clothing that will entice me to buy. Thank you, Roxy, for the preview!AL, interesting observation you make regarding the selection, or rather the lack thereof, of truly tempting shoes. Regardless of the cultural reasons for the bare feet, I feel the same way 🙁

  33. April 30, 2010 / 2:21 am

Yummy as always and the photo's make me want to run away from home!
