I have noticed a lot of community members sharing in-store deals and spots in the comments of various posts. Inspired by the weekly Seek & Find posts started by the lovely Alexis over at J.Crew Aficionada, I think now is a good time to start a similar weekly post here.
This post is for community members to trade information. You can ask for help in finding an item, report back on what you saw in-store at your local Anthro, ask general questions, make a request, or just stop by to say hello. I love how helpful this community can be!
Some FAQs….
– What does “sub” mean?
It means that people are subscribing to the comment thread. You can do this by checking the “send follow-up comments to x email address” box in the comment form.
– Someone in the comments said they wanted to buy an item from me, but it’s been x hours and I haven’t heard squat. What should I do?
I give people 24 hours for the benefit of the doubt. After that move on to the next person that contacted you.
– Someone said they returned an item at the store 20 minutes ago but I just called the store and it’s gone. What gives?!?
A store associate might have taken a fancy to it or a customer might have grabbed it. Maybe it’s just at the bottom of a big ol’pile. Unfortunately, you’re out of luck.

I seem to have a medical condition called Anthro Eye because I'll spot Anthropologie items in random places, like an ad for Citibank's Women & Co initiative in the Martha Stewart Living March 2010, p 31. I saw it and went, "Monochromatic dress, scalloped dots skirt, Georgia O'Keefe necklace." There were a necklace and marigold top that I couldn't identify, but I swear they're Anthro ringers. HI All,I just got back from all 3 Anthros in Chicago, each one had a small and extra small felted lei cardigan. But all did have minors snagging. If you are over the moon about it, the snagging isn't too bad and normally you get an extra 10-20 percent off. Also, the Block 37 store had several Lolland Sweater dresses in all sizes.As for me- I am look for silken trellis dress size 0 or 2, High Speed cardigan xs or small, Ice-capped or wavelet blouse in a 0 or 2. Yvonne–Could be that it's not necessarily a size a lot of stores carry. I read Jacqueline of Musings by Jacqueline, and she often talks about how her store doesn't carry that size, and she has to order it online.The dress is just hitting stores, so I would keep trying. But at my store, it's a pretty diminished selection. Seems like these are popular bridesmaid dresses, and we are approaching wedding season.

On the subject of anthro knock off forever 21 has the cutest top in light grey and white that is a dead ringer for the sideswept tank by deletta from last year that came in pink, light brown and black. It is knit with a "chiffon" overlay that starts as a bow on the left hand side and sweeps down across the front. Only $15! It is a little longer than the anthro version but i like it just as much as my anthro one. I don't see it online bit know B&M stores have it as part of the love collection.

this is kind of off-topic, but wondering if someone can veer me in the right direction…a couple of weeks ago i decided i was rather intrigued by the off-the-tie-rack blouse but they were sold out of my size online and in my 2 local stores. so i called CS, got the # of a NJ store and placed an order with them. it's been 2 weeks and nothing–i checked my credit card acct and i don't think i was ever charged for it. i want to call and follow up but the problem is (embarrassingly enough!) i can't remember which NJ location i ordered from! i wrote it on a post it but my lovely cleaning person decided to organize the clutter on my desk and the post it is nowhere to be found. do i just call every location in NJ and explain the situation or is that a waste of everyone's time? i'm not too perturbed since it doesn't seem like i was charged, but i'd like to know where all of my info (credit card #, address, phone etc) is sitting!thanks for any help!and if someone sees the clara booties or tawny acres boots in a 9.5 or 10, i'd love if put them on hold for stefanie or drop me a line! thanks!

Stef, I would call all of them. Explain the situation to them, and what it sounds like is that they forgot about the charge send and never rung you up (probably sold the top :/). However, you have a 100% legitimate concern about your info. Typically, those forms are kept locked up and procedure is that once your info is on the form, it is pretty much rung up immediately.I would call every store, and when you've tracked down the culprit, if they are sold out in your size, ask them to help you locate it. Also, what size are you looking for? As of 2 days ago, the Houston Anthropologie on Westheimer still had several of them (and have for over a month). I would try them if your original store has sold out!Typically, it will not take more than a day or 2 for the charge to show up in your account. Do not hesitate to call the store the following day (or even later in the day) to ask if it has been processed and / or for a tracking number. You may be on hold for a while, but most employees understand wanting to know what's going on with your purchase!

Hey Stef, this may not be that helpful but if you called from your cell phone and your remember the date you called on you can probably check your call records on you bill or on your online account. I work for a cell phone company and get plenty of people looking for numbers they dialed and I always tell them to check online or on their bill for the information.

So how do you ladies find out when an item pops up on the catalog? For example, all these older items are suddenly available when they have been sold out for months. Do you just check and see? Or do you get an alert on your email when something on your wish list pops up?

I love Anthro, honest, but their inventory system is so BAD. I called customer service on the off chance they might know where the Elodie Lily cardi is. They gave me a list of stores that might have it in my size (M) and I call all of them (seven in total) and none of have. Customer service told me one had over five in stock! AUUUUGH. I am pulling my HAIR OUT.

Does anyone remember what the Daughters of the Liberation cargo cords were called? I randomly found a pair on sale for $49.95 in my size (2) and really like them. I'd never noticed them before and wish I had, because I'd love to have another pair in a different color. My receipt lists them as "cargo pocket pigment cord" and I think the item # is 16638785, but when I search for that on the site, there aren't any more left. If anyone has seen them in a size 2 anywhere, a lead would be great.

Anon @ 8:19, the in-store style number differs from the online style number. CS might be able to give you the style number for online, but chances are that won't help much because I don't think they are online anymore (correct me if I'm wrong, commenting from my phone). I'd maybe call your local store, give them the sku, and ask them to track it down for you in other colors. In store inventory seems to be more accurate.

@Kel- I too am 40 and find that I am overly concious of some of my Anthro selections. But, I get so many compliments and kudos and all of the secind guessing goes out the window. I'm glad to see that I am not the only 40ish community member.
I called CS and they informed me that the only way I can do a price adjustment to the lower price ($39.95) for the Narration Booties is if my local store also has it in stock in my size. Muse, was this the case with you? Did your local store have the booties in stock or did they give you the PA anyway even if it wasn't in stock? I just ordered mine and I would like to get a PA if possible.
@Anon- Yes…what CS said is correct if you are attempting to get a PA over the phone. I took my receipt to a local Antrho and got the price adjustment. I hope you have a B&M store near you so that you can get the adjustment.

Muse, just to clarify – the B&M store granted you a PA even though they did not have the boots in stock in your size in the store? I bought my booties online and would go to my local Anthro B&M but just wanted to know if they'd still grant the PA because I know my local Anthro and any other B&M Anthros do not carry the Narration Booties anymore in any size it seems. How would the B&M Anthro reference the sale price if it's no longer online? I just want to get all my facts straight before going in to the store so I know what I'm talking about when I talk to a Sales Associate.
@ Anon- I purchased mine online as well. The SA can see what the current in-store price is via Anthro's system. When you do a PA, you are in essence, returning the item and repurchasing. So, at the point that you return the item, your store has the item in inventory, then you repurchase it. You really should not have a problem getting the PA in-store. I hope this makes sense….

You can call online customer service and locate the Anthro store in NJ with that store number and give the store a call.2) If you used your AnthroCard, that purchase would've been tracked, so easir for an Online Customer Service to look up your order history and tell you the store/date/amount paid, etc.Yep! Cindy, a store (and this applies to CS as well) will not price adjust to 10 cents. If you found an item in store that had been dimed out, all they could do was sell it to you at the last marked price if you insisted on buying it. However you cannot get a price adjustment to 10 cents lol.
Re:Lily Wang … I just got the two paths trench from her via eBay. She shipped ridiculously fast, and as far as I can tell, the trench isn't a knock off. I tried it on in the anthro store, and the one I bought looks and feels the exact same. So I have no complaints, nor do I have any problems buying anthro from a non-anthro source. The less money I can give to the bigoted corporation, the better.
Hi Lauren,I bought it on line and I had not known that it was dime out. I have no idea what the last price in store was but I knew that it was less than the price on line. This is an old item and it was sold out in my size. So I stalked it for a long time. Finally, it showed up so I was excited to purchase it. For example the Snowscape tank on line was $69.95 and the store price was $ 39.95. The Narration boots have reduced from 39 to 19. My point is I do not try to make money off of the company, to the contrary, I want to buy from anthro so that the company makes profit and make beautiful stuff for me to buy. But on the other hand, I want to buy the last store price, whatever it was. It is ridiculous to buy an item for 10 cents, but it would not be fair for me to pay 69.95 for the tank when I know other anthro addicts can buy for 39.95.I guess if I am not happy, I will return the item.

Cindy, what was the item in question? The only thing you can really do is speak with a manager about this. CS will not honor a price adjustment based on the in-store price, and honestly, all you can do is speak with a manager. I just know that policy is that the dimed out item can only be sold at the last marked price in-store. If it is an online purchase that has been dimed out of the system, the only person that is going to be able to make such an adjustment is a manager, and even then, they might not be so willing because of the policy in place. Which is why I'm asking what the item in question is. If it is a recent dime out (as in, taken out of the system last week), the manager may be able/willing to do a price adjustment if they recall that price. Otherwise, you may be out of luck. Honestly, I wouldn't hold that against the company considering how lenient the return and price adjustment policy is. They are really just trying to do what is fair, and a price adjustment for a dimed out item is a more sophisticated command that may, later on, have to be explained.

But in my past life as an Anthro manager, I have had customers ask me to price adjust a $40 pair of pants to the 10 cent "dimed out" price, or even a $7 notebook to the 10 cent "dimed out" price and get MAD at me when I couldn't/wouldn't.
What is "dimed out" item?
A "dimed out" item is simply an item that has been taken out of the system because it's an older item (typically marked down several times prior to this). And it's "dimed out" because when the item is rung up, it rings up at 10 cents 😀 (but can't be sold at that price)

I just had a question. How do you find out what items have had 2nd or 3rd mark downs if the item is not available online or in my store any more?
Jinii- I call CS and just ask what was the last in-store price. Some CS agents get really technical and want to only check my size, others are really helpful. In the end, if I can't get an answer from CS I just take my receipt in and ask the SA in the store to check for me.

FYI, I returned a Horizon Line Dress, shell, size 2 to the Tysons, VA store last night just before closing. I had been asked by someone on her to let her know as soon as it was returned, but she since found the dress elsewhere. Not sure it's still there, but I suppose someone could try.Good luck.
