Reviews: Twirling Peony Blouse, Punnett Blooms Shirt, Sea’s Epitome Shirt, Tuberose Tank

Note: not a single new sale item but there are some pretty new arrivals!

Because I ridiculously adore all things strapless, I was quite taken with Floreat’s Twirling Peony Blouse ($88) in the March catalogue. I love the soft pinstripes, the crisp poplin material and the detailing around the bust.

The top appeared in Soho last week so I pounced. I have a styling idea for this top already…so long as I could make it work. I knew to size up considerably to accommodate my 34D chest. So I sized up two sizes to a 10. This seemed to do the trick thanks in part to a bit of stretch in the shirt. It fit comfortably though it’s just barely long enough.

I am not sure why the bloom accent stands off from the shirt so stiffly. Looks funny, doesn’t it? A shot of steam should settle it right down though. I couldn’t wait to bring this one home — look for it in Sunday’s OOTD composite post. And for a different body type, see it on Dea here.

one.september has a similar look in their Punnett Blooms Shirt ($78). Same badge of blooms. Same navy stripes (done to a more intricately styled degree). Of course I could not resist! Normally I am a small in one.september’s tops but even the medium I have on was pretty tight. The online reviews confirm that this top runs small. I have a feeling it will stretch as the day goes on to get more comfortable. The closeness emphasized my curves more which I like but I am not loving how the top half looks. The shoulder ruching is adding broadness.

I see this as a good option under a blazer or spring cardi. Wishlisted.

I see sailing in my future courtesy of Porridge’s Sea’s Epitome Shirt ($58). I see the nautical theme for sure in the blue but I have a harder time buying it in the red. No matter. I grabbed my normal size medium. It fit alright but was shorter than I like in the back. This shirt is pretty clingy and it failed the raised arms test by exposing tummy. Meh. The pattern is very cute but I’m going to pass. Back to the rack.

Last top of this reviews set is Bailey44’s Tuberose Tank ($98). Wow — a tank top with thick straps! Will wonders never cease? Consider me thoroughly pleased. This top is super comfortable in jersey and I love the flower blooms that make up the bodice. My normal size medium was a perfect relaxed fit. The price is still a bit eyebrow raising. At $58 it would have been mine, at $78 I still probably would have caved but at $98 this one’s wishlisted for sale. You can see this top (and some other lovely items) in Kim’s review roundup from last night.

The last two tops look good on you…they help to emphasize what a small waist you have.sugarandspiceandnice.blogspot.com

I have to agree with JenLynn, I love the Sea's Epitome tee, it's really flattering, though I would worry about the length… hate exposing my stomach!

So the Tuberose Tank is just delicious and looks fab on you. Definitely agree that it's not worth the $100 (gasp) but come sale time it will come in handy. Thanks for the shoutout btw!!Also, can I just say that I felt some relief when I didn't see a sale- meaning that my wallet took a break today, although it's still early!!

That Tuberose tank is something I normally wouldn't look twice at, but on you it's so lovely that now I have to try it on myself. Thanks!Surprised there's no sale today. It's been every other Tuesday for so long I forgot that Anthro. sometimes throws curve balls.

Great choice on the Twirling Peony top – though all of them look great on you.I agree with Dea – I am kind of bummed for no sale today but am relieved as well for my wallet. Though I still may bite on the Staysail Shirt Dress – I bought the black way back when and tried it on again yesterday and LOVE the fit. And hello blue …

I posted a review of the Tuberose Tank yesterday too! It looks great on you.I loved it as well, but also agree that $98 is ridiculous for it!

I really like the Tuberose tank on you….it accentuates your tiny waistline. But the price is ridiculous!

I'm loving the Sea's Epitome tee in the red, simply because it isn't as nautical. I'm afraid I'm going to get all these nautical items and then they won't be in style next season. Although I suppose nautical is pretty classic.Random rantings.:)You look great, as usual.

The Tuberose Tank looks amazing on you! Oh I'm going to have to add it to my wishlist, too – super cute! And if you have the chance next time you are in Anthro, I'd love if you or anyone reading this really, could compare the navy Sea's Epitome to the Red version and tell me if the sizes match up. I tried the red version and it was too large for me. I'd be tempted to grab the blue if it's running smaller…

Aww thanks for updating your post with my review Roxy – I'll link to yours as well over on my blog 🙂

I fell hard for the tuberose tank, which is beautiful and looks quite fetching on you. However, when I saw it on the website I was horrified to see that the florets have button centers! Please, please, please tell me that they don't topographically enhance certain areas (meaning, nipples.) I'm a 32DD, so that is a detail I definitely need to avoid.

DEA – ha, seems like a bit of spend hesitancy has hit the blog. And I can understand. I know a big markdown is coming up soon, just a matter of when…Jan Russell – sure, I will try on the red version next time I'm at Anthro…which should be after work.Krameymartin – I agree, it's becoming an abundance of nautical at Anthro. I think some items will become classics and the Sea's Epitome Tee fits the bill to me.Kim – anytime! Sorry I did not see it sooner.heather – ha, I did not see an issue with buttons as nips. I'd hope the shirt is manufactured to avoid that issue. And to all else, thanks for the feedback! You have moved the Tuberose Tank up on my wishlist. 🙂 I'll have an evening post up around 7:30 tonight.

I really like the Sea's Epitome tee on you, but if it's short, it's short. The flower applique on the peony blouse looks different to me than it does on the product shot/model. Is it flatter?

The Tuberose Tank is divine on you! If we all hold out, maybe it'll hit sale? I feel like you need it!
