Ah, it’s Monday night and you know what that means — time to guess which items will go on sale tomorrow. This past weekend I saw some items marked down in the NYC area that are still full price on the website. For example the Solar Star Blouse was $50 and the Fifth Form Shift was $90 (THANK YOU Rosalia for the tip!). However in each case there were just a few left in stock, less than 5 of each. I have seen this before at Soho but never 5th Ave or Rockefeller Center (NYC) so I asked what the deal was. A nice SA told me Anthropologie lets individual stores mark down items as stock dwindles but other stores will not price match until it’s system-wide. Hmm, are they rolling this practice out nationwide? Or has it always been nationwide and I never noticed? I’m interested to know if you ladies have seen similar markdowns at your local Anthro.
Can’t say for sure which items will and won’t make it so I thought it would be fun to take some educated guesses. This post is no guarantee that any of these items will actually be on sale come tomorrow. What are you hoping to see? What do you think will/won’t go on sale?

Emily, it varies. Usually at least 4 weeks.
I've haven't seen my stores out here in WA state cut items early b/c of low stock, but I sure wish they did! I'm hoping the Optimist dress gets the cut tonight! If not hopefully by next, next week, just in time for FS to last!
I'd be thrilled if the Reed Shirtdress finally hit sale…then I could buy my new favorite dress in another colorway! otherwise I think everything else I want might be too recent to go on sale…oh except maybe for the Prairie Roses cardigan….that'd be a nice sale item too! or Beribboned Buds maybe?
I really hope the fiber optic dress goes on sale–I desperately want to wear it to a wedding in a few weeks, and there's no way my current budget can afford it.

I haven't seen any DC area stores mark down low stock items…they simply put them on a rail by the fitting rooms with a sign calling to attention that they are the last piece or that the stock is super low (no more in the back).sugarandspiceandnice.blogspot.com

I have not noticed any markdowns on items in my local store other than when nationwide sales occur. Believe me, I'd notice that! :)I was in the store today and didn't see any markdown activity, but I think my problem is that I'm going in too early in the day, around 11am. The sale room was mighty sparse, so I'd say they are due for some new additions! I just bit the bullet and bought the Rainforest Morning Shirtdress FP. I know it's way too soon for a markdown. I'm loving it anyway!

I have seen this happen a few times in my Tampa store. It has usually been on items that have a significant amount on hand… like enough to fill an entire arm of a t-stand. My guess is that corporate allowed a *soft launch* of new cuts on stores that are carrying too much & need help moving the product.

Tiny Cricket – unfortunately no. It's been made clear to me that those markdowns are for in-store purchases only, no phone charge/sends will be honored on those items. Sorry. :(Anon @ 4:52 – hmmm, my guess is that if you place the order now no you should not be charged shipping. May want to check with CS on that one to be sure.
The philly anthro puts items in the sale section labeled L.O. which I assume means last one, and its usually marked down 10-30 dollars off. Hope tomorrow's sale is a big one!
I was planning on visiting the Rockefeller store tomorrow… I ordered the Solar Star Blouse from another store this weekend (It wasn't on sale). I haven't received it yet in the mail, but it's listed on my anthro card. Do you think Rockefeller will price adjust, either without or with the receipt? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the Beribboned Buds Cardigan and the Double Duty Skirt, since I bought those last week. Oh, and the Simian Tableau Skirt (it's been out two months)! The last two especially do not seem to be moving….

CJ – If the Solar Star blouse goes on sale tomorrow yes Rockefeller will adjust. If not then no they will not. Again for all, just to be clear, the price was cut to clear out stock. This is not a system-wide cut and as such the price cut is only honored on those items in stock at that store, in the sizes available at that store, when bought in person. I mentioned these items only in the hope that is foreshadowing a system-wide markdown. I can leave them off next week if the community prefers.

I stopped at my local Anthro this afternoon and noticed a rack full of 'sequestered' items. Unfortunately I was unable to venture too close, but did recognize some things. Stephanie – a bunch of stuff and yet nothing at all if that makes any sense. I went on a shopping trip this past weekend and dropped some serious cash at Anthro. I have already spent my March budget…that being said the impulsive side of me would love to see the On a Wing Blouse, the Stratus Cloud Top and the Dewy Meadow Top on sale.
I just noticed there's a couple of items that have "disappeared" from the international site, which may be an indication that they'll be on sale tomorrow since you can't shop sale items on via the international site….-Speckled ink dress-Scalloped sailor skirt-Stratus cloud top
I talked with a Anthro employee and she said she doesn't believe the Reed dress will go on sale for quite awhile. She also said that they will have another big sale like the one 2 weeks ago in April. Good that gives me time to save!

There were a couple of DVF things on sale at Nordstrom that I've been watching for a while I had to get them. aww the Stratus Cloud Top I love that top. That and the on the wing blouse looked really good on you. If I get the Two Paths trench tomorrow I really can do no more than 2 tops, I'm undecided between the Raveneli Blouse, Vermillion Flurry Blouse and now that you mentioned it the Stratus Cloud Top. I'm not sure what to go for.

The Skyfall dress is soooo worth the current sale price. I wore it a couple of days ago and got more compliments than I've ever gotten on any other item except my White Roses Scarf. I was really hoping for the Aniseed skirt to go on sale, but I just noticed my size has gone on backorder, which I guess means it isn't that likely. >:(I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed for the Air Mail Skirt and the Lift-Off Jacket while I still have some March money left. 😀
Elise, I definitely agree, but I'm just not as in love with it as I'm in love with some other items, and given that I just caved on the Manisa dress (which I was in love with), I can't afford it. =( If I had wads of money, it would already be in my closet, though! I used to work for Anthro for a long time, and markdowns where always done mid morning to early afternoon on Tuesdays…and they didn't necessarily correspond to website sale items. In fact, we often marked down items that where still full price online. As for items being backordered online, they won't be marked down for a while. I.E. From the Green Cardigan – was online/in stores in December, was backordered online until February, and then just went on sale about a week ago. It's better to shop for sale items in a store rather than online….esp around the Holiday season. Good luck…and I hope all of your wishlist items make it to the sale room tomorrow 🙂

There were a couple star sprinkled cardi's that were cut to $100 b/c the shoulder pads were falling off, (not a big deal IMO, easy to sew shoulder pads back on though the cardi's probably better w/o it) that have been sitting at my local Anthro for weeks now. I'd wait for the 2nd cut.
Samantha, I totally agree! I'm typically a 2-4 on top, and went for the 6 (based on my fitting room experience). Wonder if I should have maybe even taken the 8!

I called up the Anthro telephone order line on Friday afternoon to order the Fifth Form Shift. Stock is out on the website, but they told me they could ship it to me from one of many stores that had it in my size in stock. Yesterday, I received an email from Anthro saying "Unfortunately we are unable to find the item you requested from one of our retail stores." Weird. Hopefully a size mistake. I love that dress! If not, is there anyway to get the dress directly from Maeve or elsewhere?
Hey Roxy, I saw the Caranday dress on sale in one of the Seattle stores weeks before it was "officially" on sale. It was a sz 10 and I wanted a 12, then the manager explained to me that he could call other stores, but it wouldn't be the same price. When that happens, he told me, the item on sale will have price $xx.96. Watch for those 96 cents on sale items! It's a treasure not to be found in any other store!
