Eye Candy: New April arrivals, plus a slight site makeover

I was not prepared for this. I am more of a winter Anthropologie lover but they have really outdone themselves this Spring. Usually I’m good at resisting the majority of warm-weather items that come out…but not this year. I want. It. All!! Love the overexposure in the shot above. And it looks like the Embroidered Thicket Blouse gets revived in new colors for Spring. Some of my favorite shots below, see more in my Facebook album!

Anthro’s site also got a slightly lighter skin for the warmer months. I’m liking it! If they brought back the old cart I will be 100% pleased. Let’s enjoy some April eye candy, shall we? Be sure to let me know which item is your favorite in the comments. I’m leaning towards the Red Delicious Blouse…

And I just noticed that the Cooling Palette Dress is another stroke of genius by the Girls from Savoy. They are fast becoming my favorite designer at Anthro. On a quick side note – I just bought the Dreaming in Green skirt and, other than white tops, am not sure what to pair with it. I feel like white is a cop-out. If anyone has any suggestions, holla!

I'm literally not sure how to pick a favorite – I want every single piece you just showed.

Looks like the Dewy Meadow Tunic will live on as the Striated Tunic.Love the new arrivals. Just when I think I have my wishlist shored up, bam. I saw the Salty Seas Dress over the weekend, it is very lobstery. Wish I had a clambake to go to.I hope the Red Delicious Blouse doesn't disappoint IRL.

I felt like I was duty-bounf to take advantage of the last day of free shipping.I love the lobster print dress but believe it would be too short on me. I really want the Rushing Ruffles dress—it's need to go on sale stat!

@Suki about Dreaming in Green skirt–green pairs so well with other colors that I think you could choose anything, depending on your comfort level with bold colors. I agree that a white blouse would set off the vivid green, and other neutrals–black, khaki, even navy–would also look great. Another fun option would be a bright top–like turquoise, coral, red-violet–with neutral toned belt and shoes to even it out. (Not sure why, but I could even picture this skirt with a belted safari jacket in khaki or army green with a white top. And some gladiator sandals?)

Uh oh more new stuff.. 🙂 I like the roped-in dress (on the website). I have this weakness for cute summer dresses. The anthuruim blouse is very pretty too.

Wow Anthro's spring items look amazing. I'm loving the Red Delicious Blouse, Coming & Going Skirt although I don't think I will pay that much for a skirt, the Meeting Place Tank, the Salty Seas Dress and the Cooling Palette Dress, plus some things on my cart. My wallet is cursing at me 🙁 If you see the Coming & Going Skirt can you review it if possible?

  12. March 31, 2010 / 2:03 pm

Stephanie I actually tried on the Coming & Going Skirt last weekend and will have a review of it tomorrow. 🙂 If you want a sneak preview though the wonderful Krameymartin tried it on in this post. You'll have to scroll down, down, down to see it. 😉

I love that dress with the fish–the Sketched Danios– and the Abronia skirt. I usually don't get as excited about the Spring roll-outs as the Fall and Winter, but Anthro. is offering some very lovely, unique pieces this season. Suki, I think a soft gray blouse/top covered by a lighter green or neutral jacket (maybe Through the Clouds with the Landmarks jacket), or a long neutral colored cardi would work. I also like the idea of the Picture Frame blouse with it.

Love love love the Red Delicious Blouse! Soooooooooooo cute!

The Coming and Going Skirt has almost a twin at H&M. However, it is a medium blue with white polka dots. Pretty cute for the approx. $40 I remember it being.

Ooooh!!! (making mad grabby hands in direction of Penciled Abronia Skirt)

  18. March 31, 2010 / 3:24 pm

I need the dotted dress, and maybe that floral pencil skirt.

  19. March 31, 2010 / 3:26 pm

Ok I love the Banderole tank, but can't believe its 98 dollars for something that looks so… flowy! And I love the Ipanama dress on that model! On the site it doesn't catch my eye but I think the way the wind is lifting up the dress slightly makes me want that dress.

Gah! The Embroidered Thicket is back… in blue! *swoon* Also, the light blue version of the Through-the-Clouds Tank is on the site now (even though they're calling it white)! I bought a size up in-store because that's all that was left. Does anyone know if it shrinks? Maybe I should just use my Anthro card and do an exchange…

  21. March 31, 2010 / 4:31 pm

I think my favorite is the meeting place tank! It is all lovely, though.

  22. March 31, 2010 / 4:32 pm

kornrose – Wow! Great eye to spot that. I think Sundance is pricey, too, but how funny – they are less than Anthro. They get some cute shoes once in awhile, too.

  23. March 31, 2010 / 4:40 pm

My wishlist exploded to 82 items! I'm praying to the Anthro gods that most of this eventually makes it to the sale section. The Salty Seas Dress is definitely my favorite (maritime meets Surrealism, I'm there!), but I love, love, love the Coming and Going skirt, too.

Is it just me or the Penciled Abronia Skirt looks lighter on the website than the catalog picture. I still love it!!!

  25. March 31, 2010 / 5:29 pm

@jacqueline at 9:44- I've tried the Salty Seas dress on and, at 5'9, it wasn't short on me. I think it comes right above the knee on me.

  26. March 31, 2010 / 5:35 pm

I'm trying not to look at the new arrivals. But everything I've seen so far is tempting me. Like the Lettuce Blouse, not to mention the sky version of the Climbing Cowlneck.Last day of free shipping, right? No on would blame me.

  27. March 31, 2010 / 6:03 pm

That lobster dress cracks me up! I think I might need it. Let's hope that it's too out there for most people and it makes sale. =)) Have any shorties tried it on? I'm 5'3 and curious as to where it would hit on me. Loving these new arrivals, but I will be strong!

So many pretty new items. Cannot wait to try them on.Roxy, I have a quick question for you. I am new to Anthro, so do not know what the sales patterns are like, besides mostly every Tuesday year round. And I was just wondering what happened last Easter. Did they have a huge sale during the holidays? I am trying to figure out (with so many others, I am sure!) when the 'big' sale will happen.

  30. March 31, 2010 / 7:28 pm

I just tried on (and bought) the most beautiful printed version of the rare bloom tee. I asked about the two wheeler shirt dress and it had just come in. They know I'm in there often so they brought all of the new arrivals out in my size. When I saw the printed version of the rare bloom, I *had* to try it on. It isn't online yet. I'll try to comment with a photo later on today

This is not good! 🙂 So much good stuff, I can't wait for more of them to make their appearance in stores! I love summer so I am very excited to get my wardrobe going.

I really love the red delicious blouse! too bad they start at size 2 and not zero. DO you think I can call online CS to see if any stores will carry size zero? I'm not sure how reliable their info is though, many times I have been told that a certain store has the item I need, only for me to find out from the store that they do not have it in their stock room 🙁

Thanks for posting this Roxy! I've been anxiously awaiting for my catalog to arrive. I saw several of these pieces at my local store today. I too am loving the red delicious blouse!

How does Girls of Savoy run in their tops?

  36. April 1, 2010 / 12:18 am

I hope this is okay! I wanted to share a photo of the new printed version of the Rare Bloom tee I picked up today! It's not online yet (so it might get a different name) – the fitting room attendant brought it in for me to try after I asked about another new arrival. here is a photo of it! Sorry if it looks awkward, I don't have great lighting where my mirrors are, so this is me taking it with my iphone flipped around. The tag says it is a "blue" motif, which is only on the gauzey part, the jersey portion is a solid of the navy. And it is priced at $68. It does seem to size slightly smaller than it's sold sisters. This was at the end of my time in the fitting room, and the SA brought a S. While I have the pink Rare Bloom in an XS, I was happy with the S and so I didn't bother asking for an XS.

How cool! I'm from Rio and I can recognize a few pics were taken in Rio de Janeiro. I never thought I'd see Anthropologie in Rio!BTW, buying clothes in the nice malls and boutiques in Rio is so expensive that when I go there, I start to think that Anthropologie is very affordable!

  39. April 1, 2010 / 1:16 am

Oh my word… I need to save my money but there are so many new things that I love. And I think the photos of the blonde model were taken at Arches National Park in Utah!

  40. April 1, 2010 / 1:40 am

Naomi – Last year was an anomaly because Anthro (like many retailers) was dealing with a crap economy. There is usually a spring preview sale (i.e. January releases) later on in April but I am hearing rumblings that it will be earlier this year because Passover/Easter are earlier. Not that I really know…

  41. April 1, 2010 / 1:41 am

Lauren – thank you so much for posting pics of the new Rare Bloom Tee! I can't wait to see it in-store.

  42. April 1, 2010 / 3:48 am

S.A- the size 0 tab in the Red Delicious shirt is, for some odd reason, placed after the size 12 tab.

  43. April 1, 2010 / 4:12 am

You're welcome, Roxy and Anon! It really is beautiful – as I was being rung up at the register, 2 girls asked me where I had gotten the top. I'm trying to watch my wallet a bit, but I knew this one was going to fly out of the store, so I couldn't wait 😡

K Mel, you are right! I dont know how I could have missed that!

  45. April 1, 2010 / 3:36 pm

The Penciled Abronia Skirt and the new spring Embroidered Thicket (aka Anthrium) Blouse are both going to be mine. Love love love. I adore the print of the Cooling Palette Dress but like Anjali of goldenmeans, I would much rather it be a cotton dress for practical warm weather wear. As it's silk, I'm definitely going to pass.
