Another round of Anthropologie survey goodness

Ladies, roll up your sleeves and grab that coffee! This time around I was actually included in the recipient list for a survey all about bags. I was stoked because I love half of Anthro’s bags and find the other half quite head-scratchingly odd choices. Taking this survey gave me a chance to grab screens from all of the pages of the survey and I’m intrigued to hear your opinions. You can click on any of the photos to zoom. Thanks are due as well to Lisa, who forwarded this my way also. My answers in the comments. Shall we?

Question 1: Pick your 3 favorite leather bags from the choices above.
Question 2: Pick your 3 favorite fabric bags from the choices above.
(Uh, Anthro, isn’t E from last year?)

Question 3: Goldilocks, which size bag is just right?
Question 4: Designers, please choose your favorite color palette
from the choices above. And then we’re off to Mood!

Fun times. I am loving all these surveys. If you receive one, please forward it along to me for a future post!

Thanks for sharing this! You are right about Question 2 Style E being from last year (diff. print, of course). It was my diaper bag in the fall/winter. I think Anthropologie might die if they knew.1. Love A and D (unless D is made by TANO, and then just A)2. C, and I could use a new diaper bag so E too.3. Trick question, there is no right size for every occasion. You need them all.4. Neutrals. Blah boring, I know, but I'd rather have a scarf or top with a pop of color and a bag that can float seamlessly among them.

Question 1 – D looks very similar to a bag I purchased from Anthro last year. But otherwise I'm eh on all of them, where is the color? I'd love a bag in the blush/pale guava type color that is so in.

    (Q1) A & E(Q2) none?(Q3) medium to large for me(Q4) I go for basic colors as I only buy one bag a season and I don't like the whole brown/black switch thing.Thanks for sharing.sugarandspiceandnice.blogspot.com

Just a quick question- are these surveys just sent to Anthro card members? And I have an Anthro card but I never get the emails you put on the blog…any ideas why? Thanks!

  6. March 24, 2010 / 1:08 pm

Julie – no, it's not an anthro-exclusive thing. It might just be random, but likely their marketing group is selecting people who have signed up for Anthropologie emails based on some kind of criteria. Who knows?

  7. March 24, 2010 / 1:15 pm

D in the first set was also sold last year! :pBut My picks…1st set: E, F, A 2nd set: E, F, DSize: mediumpalette: basic colors

I kind of love all of these. I tend to be a cheapskate about bags, which is dumb, because they fall apart, but I got my first ever Anthro bag for Christmas this year and I love it! Also, super off-topic: I'm returning a size 12 Twilit skirt to the Rockefeller Center anthro on my lunch break. I paid $29.95. If you want me to have them hold it for you, email me at: m(dot)keenancaldwell(at)gmail(dot)com.

    1) A, B, E2) tought as i don't like cloth bags at all but if I had to pick E, D, and F (thought I really don't like F)3) medium4) neutralsyay, thanks for posting, i love reading these too!

  12. March 24, 2010 / 2:29 pm

    1. E, F, D (But, to be honest, I don't really love any of these that much)2. E, C, A (These are cuter than the leather ones)3. Medium 4. Basic Colors and some Pop Colors I feel like I always buy neutral bags because they go with everything. The basic colors seem to be sort of neutral but a bit more colorful. I also wouldn't mind some pop colors here and there, since I don't have many colorful bags.

Question 1 – E, C, A.Question 2 – C, E, A.Question 3 – medium.Question 4 – last option. Also, how do they decide which email addresses to send these surveys to?Can you tell me a little about the birthday discount I keep hearing about in the anthro blogosphere? Where do I sign up for it? My birthday is coming up at the end of this month and I was thinking I could use a discount with the free shipping offer, although not sure if I can combine codes?

slightly off topic here, but is there a specific place in the blog to ask general anthropologie related questions? I will be visiting NYC this weekend and I wanted to ask the antro community which NYC stores are the best I should plan to visit? Specially, which stores have the best sale sections?

    1. A, D, E2. D, E, F (although I'm not in love with any of them really.)3. Medium is probably best.4. I like the pop colors. I have a couple expensive, classic, neutral purses already so I usually buy purses in funky colors these days.

  21. March 24, 2010 / 8:00 pm

1 – A, D, B2 – E & F. Maybe C. I don't really dig the cloth bags, and can see myself taking the rest to Goodwill. :P3 – Medium. 4 – Metallics & Neutrals. However, I like a cute bit of color now and then too. It depends on the outfit, now doesn't it?

Anonymous @ 3:12, sounds like you're new to Anthro…welcome! Do you know about the anthro card? You can read about it here. To get free shipping on your orders, as well as to be eligible for the birthday discount, you must be signed up for the card and be a US resident. It's not a credit card. All anthro members are entered into an annual lottery for the birthday discount. Not every anthro member gets it. The birthday discount is a one-time, in-store only discount. As of now Anthropologie doesn't do codes on their website. I hope that answers your question.

delipickle – that's part of what the weekly in-store community post is that runs on Fridays. You can post your question to last week's if you like although I'm not sure how much of a response you'll get.But you lucked out since I live in NYC. In terms of sheer size the Rockefeller Center Anthro is HUGE and has a generously sized sale room. That will be the most crowded Anthro but it's probably the best choice if you can hit only one.The 5th Ave Anthro has the latest selection — the newest stuff, sneak previews of items not yet on the website, etc. Their sale is decently sized. The Soho Anthropologie has the largest sale section and is known to mark items down first (though many times, the initial markdown is only $10 off the full price). Also, Soho trends towards complete looks in their stock. I find it the easiest Anthro to go to when I want to buy a complete outfit.Hope that helps…enjoy your time in NYC!

I am so excited to go check out the NYC anthros, I think I will start with the rockefller spot first, since I want to check out the sale section ha! You really know your stuff, thanks once again!
