Email/Review: Swathed Gingham Blouse

Anthropologie wants to know: have you met their ringleader? It’s the subject of their latest email, devoted to Odille’s Swathed Gingham Blouse ($78). Why yes Anthropologie (can I call you Anthro?) as a matter of fact I have…

…and our meeting went very well! I wasn’t really sure what to expect out of this top but after seeing it in Hometown Queen’s guest post I gained confidence to try it myself. It’s a cotton/polyester mix that has the softness of cotton with some extra breathability. I feared the top would make me look wide. Aside from a bit too much of a trapeze-y bottom hem the top is actually really flattering.

Best of all it’s less complicated to put on than many of Anthro’s wrap tops. A lot of them involve sticking the sash through a hole in the side of the shirt and then pulling and before I know it I’m tied up in shirt. This one’s easy though. It opens and ties like a robe. Such a full sash too — hooray!

I was able to fit into my normal size 6 no problem. Swathed Gingham Blouse, it was a pleasure to meet you. Next I’d like to meet your show ponies! You know, the ones with the little poofies on their head?

That looks great on you Roxy! It's very flattering.Did your store have the yellow and black as well? I can't decide what color I like best.

Wow! That looks great! I was not going to try it because I don't really do gingham. (Too Wizard of Oz for me…) But after seeing this top on you, it looks a lot more sophisticated that I thought it would!

Kim – I saw all 3 colors. I like the green best personally because it's close to my hazel eye color. I think the green or black would look great on you.Ady – I felt much the same. It's a got a nice little look to it. I want to pair it with white shorts.Krameymartin – me either!

I love it on you! I love almost everything from Odille- and I love that almost all of their tops are machine washable. I know, that's kind of dorky, but at the rate I dump things on myself, I always know I'm safe when I go out to eat wearing somethin' from Odille, mmhmm.

I saw these going out on the floor last week. I cannot wait to try one on! I love it on you Roxy! After my 7 day moratorium ends next week, I fully intend on checking it out!

So happy to see that this looks fabulous on you because I know it will look just as good on my similar frame. Yay!

Oh I was terrified of that blouse but happened to be wearing a pencil skirt when I tried it on and it looked kind of wonderful. Imagine it with a pencil skirt and a pair of heels with an ankle strap…
