Metapost: Talking music with the Cru Jones Society

One of the great things about the blogging world is that everyone is pretty damn friendly. So when my buds over at Cru Jones Society asked me to do a guest post I said yes before they even told me what I’d be doing. They ended up asking me to write about my favorite musical acts from the last 10 years…being that the decade is coming to a close and all. So I wrote an epic post which went live today! Feel free to head on over there to check it out — the boys are super nice and over half their readership is female. CJS regulars E Dagger and Lee S. Hart also gave their takes on the top bands of the nonnies earlier this week. Just as a heads up the language is not always clean over there. I smile like a saint but I curse like a sailor including in the column. The blog manages to make me laugh just about every day and the commenting crowd is pretty great too.

I have a few more guest columns in the works and this is the perfect time to make it known that if any of you are interested in writing a guest post for Effortless Anthropologie I welcome it! The post has to be related to Anthropologie obviously but I’m open to any ideas you have. Cheers.

I love, love, love PJ Harvey. "To Bring You My Love" is *the* roadtrip CD for me. I have yet to seen her live, and she's the only one missing from my must see list.Tom Waits is my absolute favorite. I flew to El Paso, TX for two days and one night just to see him. It was worth every pretty penny!

Tien – I hope you get to see her sometime. It's a messy and noisy show and I love it. After one of her shows my friend remarked "I didn't understand a word she sang but I loved it."ali – It can be whatever you'd like to write. Reviews are awesome but if you have a topic in mind to discuss more in-depth that works well too. Just make sure to clear the topic with me first — shoot me an email with what you'd like to write about and we can chat further. snapsparkchik at gmail dawt com.

goodness…tough to narrow down my favorite acts of the past decade to just 5! you'll likely disagree, but i'd replace stadium gods u2 with my favorite live act, depeche mode! they might be nearing 50, but their past 2 albums have been some of their best work and dare i say, dave gahan is still pretty darn sexy!kudos for your neil diamond mention–i'm not embarrassed to say i saw him in concert a couple times in the past 5 yrs–granted, i was probably the youngest in the crowd but he totally upped his cool quotient when he partnered with rick rubin!and…love me some polly jean harvey! you can't go wrong with pj no matter the decade!nice post, roxy! i love reading your blog each day for my anthro fix, but this was a nice little interlude!
