Considering my blind luck predicting items that would go on sale last week, I thought it would be fun to make our sale wishlists a weekly post. Below are the items I’d like to see on sale — be sure to add your desirables in the comments.
My blue Thousand Days Skirt ($78, review here) is lonely and wants an orange friend. I still wish this skirt were two inches longer but with tights underneath it won’t matter as much. It’s a versatile, potentially 4-season piece.
The Bird’s-Eye-View Necklace ($118) is admittedly summery. Then again this item first debuted in one of the late-spring catalogues. I saw it recently at one of the NYC Anthropologies and it looks lovely. On sale it would be irresistible.
I need another cardigan like a fish needs a bicycle. Still, if the Frilled & Thrilled Cardigan ($88) was to go on sale I would be ready to pull the trigger. The toughest part would be deciding which pattern to get.
I’ve given up hope of ever seeing the Nouveau Bomber ($88) in-store — probably because as a helpful commenter noted it’s online-only. Instead I’m just waiting for it to go on sale before I order it. And pay a ridiculous shipping charge. I hope I don’t have the same issues as the top reviewer on the product page.
So how about you? What items are you hoping to see on sale come tomorrow?
Roxy, I thought in one of your previous bloggs you mentioned that the thrilled and frilled cardigan is on sale in one of the stores in NY. I called that store and it was on sale, but didn't have my size. The grey is only on line.
dshin, yep last week I saw the Frilled & Thrilled cardi on sale at the Soho Anthropologie. But they didn't have the grey in my size and that is the one I'm hoping to grab. I guess the sale dance is for it to be on sale everywhere. 🙂
I love that navy blue skirt to go on sale too! :)http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2009/09/ruffian_to_do_anthropologie_co.html"• Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais signed a deal with Anthropologie to launch a collection for the store named Mise en Scene. It will launch in November."
Probably the reason why you haven't seen the Nouveau Bomber in store is because it's an anthropologie.com exclusive and is only available online (it says that in the product description).
Oh, interesting. I just grabbed the link off my wishlist and it does not denote which items are online only. I actually have that as a post topic for later this week because I've noticed several Leifsdottir products are online-only as well. Thanks for pointing that out, Anonymous.
Roxy – thanks for keeping up the blog. I am rather new to the whole blogging world, but since I don't live near to an Anthropologie I love love love your IRL photos! Thanks! Quick question – I am thinking about purchasing the Frilled and Thrilled cardigan in the wine color in a small. Did the SOHO store have a small do you remember? And what was the sale price? Thanks!
Hi Anon, I think there were only larges at Soho. I can swing by tomorrow to be sure. I believe the sale price was $68.
Roxy – Thanks! But don't go out of your way. I might just call there sometime and see if they have any. Do they charge shipping if you call the store directly? Thanks for everything, you are so helpful!
No worries Anon, it's 2 blocks from my work. I'm there all the time…they're probably sick of me! 🙂 Usually stores will not charge shipping, though I'm not sure if that applies only to full-price items. Their number is (212) 343-7070. If they do charge shipping, put on hold under Roxy and let me know.
Wow, you're officially awesome. I will give them a call in the morning!
why won't the black and bright dress go on sale!?!?! WHY???? *Cries out to the anthro gods*
