Chances are good that Chloe’s Boucle Cape ($148) already arrived. This was one of the most interesting pieces in the new catalog and worth a try-on even though I know it’s not quite for me.
It looks pretty cool on, maybe not quite ready for crime fighting. In the vein of that inspiration I would want to stand with arms on hips at all times so people would think I either have way too much pride in myself or that yes I am constantly judging you. I can’t get the image of a hip art gallery owner with this cape, a severe bob, leggings and 5-inch stilettos out of my head. In real life I’d probably pair this with an updo, a turtleneck in a jewel tone (cranberry or teal), a pair of straight-leg jeans and a nice pair of booties.
I’m wearing my true size medium above but should have gone for a small. The cape is sitting too far away from my body above the belt. The material, Australian wool, comes pre-pilled. Not gonna lie, this would drive me nuts. I would constantly want to take the pill razor to it. It closes with hook and eyes leaving the slightest gap. Overall I like the look — just not on me. The main issue is that the cape hits too high on me. It wouldn’t look right longer but where it hits emphasizes my thighs and they don’t need any extra emphasis thanks very much. It’s a cool cape and I can’t wait to see Chloe (and others) rock it.
I like it it on you. It is very stylized. THe color is nice with your dark hair. The piling would drive me nuts too!

What? You don't like this? I gasped when I saw it on you. And I love your idea of how to wear it — incl the hair, which many people neglect. It totally can make or break an outfit.I hear you on the bouclé. That would drive me nuts, too, but it looks good on you.
