Email: Showing our stripes

Anthropologie sent an email today that’s ostensibly about all things striped but let’s get to what’s really important: cute owls! The Elf Owls Scoopneck ($98) by McGinn is too sweet for words. It joins other owl-adorned Anthro products like the Horned Owl Tote ($398) and the Night Owl Tee (now $50) with places in my tiny little heart. The scoopneck under a blazer? Or maybe a hoodie? Yes!

There are plenty of other things to like in the striped collection. I am consistently considering the Frilled & Thrilled Cardigan ($78) which I’ve seen on sale at the Soho Anthropologie but nowhere else. I reviewed the cardi back in July and found Sparrow’s product to have a flattering fit and lovely tones.

Also worth noting is that the Fluttering Pencil Skirt ($158) now comes in two more varieties, the He-Said-She-Said Skirt ($158) which is among this striped collection and the dotted Midnight Squall Skirt ($158).

Does anyone else wish the Extra Ingredient Apron ($38) was also made as a full-on dress? I also spotted the Monochromatic Corset Dress ($188) that I reviewed this morning and the Bold Boutonniere Dress ($128) which got the review treatment in July.

I was really disappointed when I tried on the Fluttering Pencil Skirt–it was just way too much fabric for my fairly petite frame, and the stripe pattern didn't wow me. I would try on the He-Said She-Said skirt, especially if they have a smaller size in stock (my store didn't have the fluttering pencil in a 0 or 2)

Colleen, I haven't even found the Fluttering Pencil Skirt in-store to try it on! I inquired about it and the store told me it had sold out in 3 days. 🙁 Hopefully the He-Said She-Said will be available in your size when your store gets it.

Anthro isn't far, but I never think to go in there. Now I will know what to look for if I visit. Thanks for all of your great posts. I know it's out of love anyway. 🙂 Anthro is lucky to have this free pub!
