Review & Outfits: Openweave V-neck

The Openweave V-Neck ($68) is not the kind of top I’d normally go for. It’s drapey, it’s a loose enough cable to see through and it is kind of boho. Yet somehow in real life I instantly fell in love! I owe it to the lovely shade of blue I think; blue and I are practically BFFs at this point.

Sparrow added some nice touches on the top such as the string tie in the back. I am concerned about this sweater growing fuzzy over time though I think that’s pretty much unavoidable with angora. The stitching is well-done and overall the quality looked good. I found this sweater to run large. I sized down one size to a small.

I realize looking at this photo now that I should have bloused the top a bit more. However the overall effect I want to get across is simple, straight bottom with this flowy top. Here it’s paired with my Gap Denim Slant Pocket Pencil Skirt which is getting the most wears of anything in my closet at the moment. I paired it with a an old American Eagle cami in cream and a pair of silver Steve Madden shoes that give the outfit an extra punch. This is the now look — for work, for play, every day.

When the colder weather gets here I’ll take Anthropologie’s suggestion and pair the v-neck with the same AE cami, my Express Skinny Mias and a pair of Eddie Bauer high heel boots in chocolate. It creates a nice, long and lean shape. You could also do toothpick jeans with high heels or leggings. So many possibilites for one versatile top.
