Brand sizing guide starting to fill

I’ve finally begun building up the Brand Sizing guide. It’s located in the right sidebar about halfway down the page. For best results do a find (control + F/apple + F) for the brand you are looking for. You can also search for a certain product anytime by entering its name in the blog searchbar. If you don’t see a brand please let me know! I will keep this updated as fits change or I do.

Thanks for starting the brand information. Very helpful. Have you ever tried on the Miss Albright shoes? Thanks!

Blondmoma, I have tried those shoes. I think they run TTS length-wise but they tend to run narrow width-wise.

Hi Roxy, I'd add something to your Chie Mihara size guide. These shoes are really Euro-sized, so a true 6 might be too small, as the 36 size does not always translate. Anthro does a straight size translation where they just subtract 30 from the Euro size and post that as the size for sale. However, Euro sizes tend to run a 1/2 size small for some brands.Something to be aware of..

Oh, and I have something for Moth: I find their tops to either b one size large or TTS. The same goes for their skirts. I almost always have to order two sizes and see which fits, because just when I think I have their sizing figured out, it changes, or is funky for that piece.Good job!

Good lord I can't believe I forgot Moth. Thanks for the reminder jacquelyn!!Blondmoma – I agree with jacquelyn on the Miss Albright shoes. I also find they don't have a ton of arch support…but so irresistibly cute.

Hi Roxy,My order arrived yesterday :)) Here's my own review:- the Possibilities cardigan fits perfect in small (thank you!)- The Spun Sugar dress is too large in 8 (I should have listened to your post!)- The Summerweight Cardigan is too large in medium (the lilac color is fab however)- The Reposing Cloud Cardigan is too large in medium ( I have another of their cardigan in medium and it fits perfectly… weird)- The Necklace Tank in white is perfect but I am not sure about the beige flowers (its looks like nylon socks to me)- The Hidden Grove Dress fits perfect in 8 (even more beautiful than I thought in real)Et voilà! I will return the non fitting items. I would like your opinion regarding the new Clustered Petals Dress… should I size down for a 6 instead of my true size 8? i wonder because it looks like the Spun Sugar dress to me.Many thanks for your help 🙂 I hope I am not taking too much of your time…

Hi Sandrine, I love that people come and leave comments and ask questions…it validates that this is a worthwhile side project for me. 🙂 So ask away! I think you should stick to your true size for the Clustered Petal Dress. I'm basing that off my other two experiences trying on Sine pieces. What an amazing piece, I hadn't seen it on the site yet!

Thank you Roxy, I think I will order it in size 8, that dress is superb!

Hi Roxy, this comes rather late, but thank you for this wonderful guide! I've bookmarked it for future reference. Also, would you happen to know which designer has a logo featuring a mermaid holding a star? I've been trying to find out who designed the skirt I bought in June 2007. The skirt has red blossoms and black branches on white. Until very recently, it'd never occurred to me to pay attention to the different Anthropologie designers. And it drives me absolutely mad that this is the one designer I can't identify.

Actually, please ignore my completely idiotic question. I was very, very tired when I typed it and hadn't thoroughly gone over the sizing guide. Upon more careful reading, I've realized that there actually is a Mermaid brand, which, I suppose, would have a mermaid logo. (:

Thanks for this guide! I have a silly question: when it says "1 size down", does that mean that I should order one size smaller than I usually would (ie, I'm an 8, so I need a 6)? Or that it fits like it's one size smaller than it is (it's sized at 8, but fits like a 6–so I should order one size bigger)? Does that make sense? 🙂

  21. March 22, 2010 / 7:18 pm

Hi marmaladeinstead, it does make sense! "One size down" means the former, so if I'm normally an 8 I buy a 6 in that particular brand.

  22. March 22, 2010 / 7:20 pm

Ahh, makes perfect sense! Can't wait to order my new dresses now!
