Oh my goodness. I have tried to turn a blind eye to this Anthropologie but today I can condone no longer. Harem pants? Your latest email is about harem pants? Fine, let’s ignore that these are harem pants for a second. How do this look fit into the Anthropologie collection? I just…it blows my mind. Between these and cuffed jeans I’m about ready to quit on pants altogether. If acid wash makes a comeback I’m done.
Hysterically if you click through the email there is a “see what works with harems” page. The key is accenting the waist says Anthro. Sigh. If people want to wear harem pants…I can’t even finish the thought. Let’s just move on.
Update: Jacquelyn shares her thoughts; J’adore these stores n’adore pas des pantalons harem (Congrats Anthro, you’ve incited the blogosphere with all things harem!)
Not at all a fit with Anthro style- whatever. They will go to sale quickly. I wonder what kind of hit they'll take on them not selling??
Thank you!!! I'm so glad someone else feels the same way. Absolutely horrific and not okay in any way. These pants should be for costume only!
Yeah, this is extremely A) weird B) disappointing and C) un-Anthro. I am NOT a fan.
i thought i was the only one who found this beyond insane. i can barely get the words "harem pants" out without laughing!
Um, sadly. We will be seeing acid wash again. *shudder*Check it out:http://www.style.com/fashionshows/review/F2009RTW-MISS60
Ok, I really need to learn how to hyperlink.Go to Style.com and click on Fashion Shows –> Fall 2009 rtw –> Miss Sixty.
i kinda think harem pants are a right "time/place/body proportion/lifestyle" combination. since i don't qualify for any of those i plan to avoid this trend. 🙂
I agree, burntphotograph. I've seen some simple pairs that, when coordinated right and on the right body, look great. There's an inexpensive pair by Express I've seen in a few mags . Although, they do have a bit of a drop crotch. I still want to try them on for the heck of it.
Harem?!! How about parachute pants! Or MC Hammer pants!! That's more like it! I can't believe Anthro is trying to pass these off as trendy.
