Slipping into summer with Sundance Catalog

When I want to brighten up my wardrobe with cheery embellished stuff and ultra-flattering chic casual elements, I head for Sundance Catalog! Though on the pricier side this retailer has become one of my favorites because their clothing is well-made, fun to wear and lasts. Add in that they consistently source from small businesses and artisans and I’m swooning!

Let’s take a look at some of my wishlist items there right now as well as some of my recent purchases and wins, like the Raquel Tank ($48, above). This tank is mostly cotton with just a hint of spandex and is nice and long, hitting at my low hip. I found my usual medium to be ultra-flattering! I love how it is shown here with a combination of long and short necklaces and these pants.

Other recent Sundance wins have included the Elan Tank ($48), which is not only an ideal layering tank with its extra-long lacy bottom hem, but also great on its own paired with either shorts or a skirt. I own it in three colors now (the white is a bit see-through) and sized up to a large for a looser fit. For layering, the Soft Sampler Cardigan ($138, TTS) has been an ideal piece for topping dresses on windy afternoons or when I go somewhere that the air conditioning might be blasting. For hot days when I want to feel pretty, the Angel Tank ($88) has been there as an easy throw-on-and-go tank top. It runs a little big, my usual size medium is comfortably loose.

My favorite Sundance splurges lately might have to be the World Travels Dress ($238) you see above and the Milagros Hobo Bag ($198), which I purchased in the grey color that has green undertones in real life. It’s a stunning shade! I’m also hoping to order the gorgeous Cara Bucket Bag ($398) soon. I love how it can be shoulder-slung. The dress was a last-minute order add-in and I feared it might be a sack, but in real life it does a pretty good job of hinting at my curves! I often belt it (this one would do well) or wear a light cardigan over it.

My wishlist has a few more dresses on it including the Samara Dress ($178) which isn’t getting great reviews but still tempts me, the highly-rated and colorful Peony Tea Dress ($178) and the Fleurs Du Soir Dress ($168) which looks perfect for summer evenings out.

There are lots of gorgeous tops on my wishlist too! Take the Fontaine Top ($128), above which has the ideal mix of easy breezy and feminine details. I imagine the top would be perfect with the Organia Lace Pants ($98) or the subtly embellished Wheatley Chinos ($98), both of which I want badly. I’d finish the look with these earrings and these cute wedges.

I also love the look of the long Rachael Top ($118), shown with the same necklace combo here as the top photo of the post. It’d work great with jeans but I also imagine it’d be really fun with the Bermuda Embroidered Shorts By Driftwood ($98) which have a beautiful embroidered pattern down each side. I’d wear them with my favorite casual shoes of the moment in black.

Below are my Sundance picks for June — I know we have lots of fans of the retailer here! What have you purchased and loved from Sundance recently, and what’s next on your wishlist?

OOOH . thank you for the morning eye candy to enjoy with my coffee. My wallet is safe as i need petites. I took a walk thru Anthro yesterday as I had met friends to carpool at the shopping center. Here i am with $75 in gift cards that I don't want to dribble away on more mugs and not a thing to even take a second look at. Everything i saw was looked like it had been hit with an ugleee stick! Fabrics that did not hang nice, weird wide shapes……The only pretty was a sheer long lacey kimono that would go with nothing. Thinking of making a kimono out of my wedding dress…..

I empathize with wanting to keep your wallet safe, but just so you know Sundance has a Petites section! http://bit.ly/2rkhCJh

Sundance is somewhat what Anthro used to be. My only problem with Sundance is the sizes. I really struggle on picking the right one. Another thing is I wish the site allowed people to post pictures of OOTD's in Sundance pieces. It would really help.

Yes I hope they get on board with customer galleries! I agree the sizing is tough because they source from so many different places. The reviews really help.

I so wish they made smaller sizes in jeans (they usually start at 26) and XXS in tops and dresses!! If they did, I would definitely be shopping at Sundance.

Hopefully they see this and do that!!

I definitely second the need for smaller sizes from Sundance Catalog. I need 24-25 in jeans and xxs also. I love everything I see but I am sized out of all their clothes. I guess my wallet is safe there.

Sign up for emails and get on their catalog list. They send out codes both ways but they aren't frequent. Birthday discount is 10%. I hope this helps.

I recently bought the Organia Lace Pants in grey as a replacement for a similar style of linen Hei Hei pants I had bought last year that ripped. The Organia Pants are a heavier fabric than I was expecting, but I like them. They stretch out a tad during the day, but not nearly as much as linen pants typically do, and no wrinkles! I took my usual pants size in them.
